Man i still havent get unban yet :(

I never got an email from gabe, just an email back from support asking if i needed to worry about anything. So keep checking your ban status. Also try what danieleriz did and reinstall steam. But keep trying.

all of those that put a support ticket in should have gotten an email regarding it, and all of those still unbanned you need to stay persistant and ask questions. Bug the ♥♥♥♥ out of them. Dont forget the temaspeak 3 guys and the website. That is all there at your disposal.

@ manbearpig. My girlfriends brother had his unlocked. Plus all his prestige callsigns. Was only lvl 70 no prestige at all. He just prestiged so he could do it all himself. Don't worry though because that can't get you banned. He is still playing.

My MW2 has returned playable only after a reinstall of all (STEAM included)
For those still not unbanned try to contact support again and again and email gabe. "SGT REG" try to see if in the:" YOUR QUESTIONS" you have the question that you made to support if not, they have simply delete the message, try again and don't give up.

anyone else experiencing lag every 5minutes for about 40 secs? its happening in mw2 and l4d2...only things ive gotten since the ban......

anyone else have all there guns unlocked and leveled to 70?

BTW, to those still not unbanned, email Gabe Newell direct, Steam Support is trained to send a copy paste response

I've emailed VACBanned.com in the hopes of them updating their database and having our names removed. If you type in a Steam name, it checks the ID to see if it's banned. If it is, it's added, if it's not, nothing happens. I added mine in again after the ban was lifted but it never removed my name from the database. If you want your name removed, you can email them: contact@vacbanned.com

This was caused by a combination of conditions occurring while Steam was updating the disk image of a game. This wasn't a game-specific mistake. Steam allows us to manage and reverse these erroneous bans (about 12,000 erroneous bans over two weeks).

We have reversed the ban, restoring your access to the game. In addition, we have given you a free copy of Left 4 Dead 2 to give as a gift on Steam, plus a free copy for yourself if you didn't already own the game.

It's all good. We got our game back. Tha'ts all that matters. And L4D2 is a nice touch.
