It was a lot worse for me. I lost over 200 items, worth about $100

Some guy tried this tactic last week by saying he accidently banned his other friends and me as well. He used very rushed and broken language. My main response was, "this sounds stupid, no." A few google searches later, I found out this scam is nothing new. Sorry for ur loss.

Yo there is a scam were a hacker takes a steam account from a real person, uses that to target the victims, and tries to "check for duped items".

basically be aware of a friend saying you have a pending trade ban. dont fall for it, you'll lose a friend because if you call them out, they block you, but you can find there new account and refriend them.
