It's been a while, and I've recently only posted them on discord, but I figured since not everyone is on discord I can post the changelog here as well:

What we can do is change how groups expand to create minimum amount of players the higher groups can have before moving onto creating the next lower group. so for example in a map like ori_l with 134 players, 62 players are eligible for a group (134 - top10) / 2.

The current way of calculating groups by % without minimums yields group sizes:
G1: 1
G2: 2
G3: 4
G4: 8
G5: 16
G6: 31

For a total of 62 players

If we use minimums our group sizes look like:
G1: 10
G2: 15
G3: 25
G4: 12

For a total of 62 players, and we only have 4 groups.

This is good because for such low amount of completions, it is unnecessary to have 6 groups, and the groups that remain are the higher tiered groups which give more points. This results in the map giving a total of 5316 points via groups to all 62 players combined, instead of 1256 points that it used to give combined.

After the minimums are reached, the groups continue to expand as usual based on % up to 50% of the players.

These are the minimums g8 proposed:
