de_train is an important map in the history of Rochester Counter-Strike, so it felt odd to not do something to commemorate its addition back into the map pool.

I have been neglecting this Steam group again despite us having events. Anyone from the old guard still lurking here and itching to play on LAN? We have a discord server now as well as a venue to play. Next event is on July 22nd.

Not sure who is subscribed to these comments or threads. I am looking to revive this group as we have a LAN center again. Gonna be checking it out in the coming weeks and putting something up. I do not have any information in the way of payouts/rewards/teams/etc that we can have; from what I have collected so far I don't even know if I can get enough for a proper 5v5. Regardless, I want you all to know that as a CS enthusiast I want to bring back the local aspect of this game to people that may not have experienced the first time around.

It's dead in the sense that there are no local events that are constant and 20 minutes away for most. A ton of us still play and I am currently looking for a team for Top Fraggers in Buffalo.

Oh, and TomorrowLAN went pretty well, for anyone wondering. It could have definitely used more competition, though. I'll post the next RIT LAN event when it is announced.

Hey, what's up everyone. I'm looking to do GameOn's Topfraggers tournament in January (8th, 9th and 10th depending on how far we get). Anyone that wants to go with me message me on Steam, either here or add me. Please have either ESEA or CEVO (ESEA preferred) so we can practice scrims. This may or may not happen on my part because I'm not sure if RIT.CS wants to go. Anyway, hit me up, you know where to find me.

TomorrowLAN is... uh, tomorrow! If you missed the first post about it, look at the announcements tab up above! Just remember, you don't have to be a student of RIT to go, and you don't have to stay the full time (but there is an equipment lockdown at midnight or so). I went to Fusion Fest '15 back last March, and I can say that EGS does know how to host a pretty good LAN (even if there weren't actually LAN servers there or anything). From what I understand, there will also be a WiiU or two with Smash 4, League of Legends (I just made half of the group cringe) events, and some other games.

I mean, if we get a ton of people, we can set up our own. This is why I try to push for people to try and get local teams. Even getting someone that isn't that good would be fine because you can help them get better.

Which sucks, because a lot of people I know would rather NOT do it through EGS, but the way I see it, you can't beat $7 for 16-24 hours with your entire team, even if it's just bootcamping.
