As for how to play, I suggest you play against AIs at first. Spam units. If you're Imperial Guard, stick with normal troops, NOT CATACHAN, if you're Chaos, Noise Marines (or Chaos Space Marines if you can't get the power for Noise Marines, though it's a poor substitute), Tactical Marines if you're Space Marines, don't use Eldar, and Shootah/Slugga Boyz if you're Orkz. Stick with that and defend your base in Annhilate (or defend Victory Points in VPC). Save up for the heavy hitters and base upgrades if you can, but otherwise stick to the defensive until you feel ready to attack.
