Midwest filled up quite fast a few days ago. People just need to stay in the servers.
Skooma 1 Jan, 2010 @ 12:44am
I went into Midwest tonight and 15 seconds after I did 3 other people came in. Even if the server stays small they can still be fun.

Also: can you guys please stay int he server a bit if you want people to join? Sometimes I join a game but the person that announced it has already left. Not everyone is just sitting there waiting all day for someone to post an announcement, I do other things as well.

I put that up just so people wouldnt get pissed if there were a large number of people sending out game requests, So far, the group hasn't seen as many announcements as I expected. It seems there's more people who want to get the announcements than want to post them. And I can kind of see their point. If you start a game on a new server, you're still going to be the only one on it for a while, even if you do use the announcement system. But if you do get annoyed by them while in game, you can turn them off then turn them back on when you are looking forf a game.

The only thing keeping me from joining this group is the "PLEASE BE AWARE: Joining this group probably means there will be a significant number of announcement pop-ups while you're playing, but that's why you joined, right?"

Isn't there another way to make this work without having to litter our screens with announcements? I mean, what about group chat? Can we assume all of our members are competent enough to dump themselves into a little chat box if they want to start a new game? I suppose it's a bit more hassle but it does solve the popup problems, and if you're going to be sitting and idling for a reddit server anyways whats a few clicks away through alt-tab to check out if the chat has anyone in it? :3

But i'm sure plenty of you are satisfied with it, just voicing mah concern with it.
