I have prayed and donated money to Japan. I have visited Osaka and Kyoto so far and I can say after just staying a few weeks there. It was really like home to me. I love the people and I love the country.
Hollow 4 Sep, 2012 @ 11:35am
I'm staying in this group, if only because I know Japan won't be the same ever again.

@ Itronwatsas, I'm sorry to shoot your hopes out of the sky, but there has been extensive scientific data proving that Prays do not exist, and therefore their is no "likely activate various local spirts". PM for the link if you interested.
Mage from Disgaea 7 Apr, 2011 @ 5:29pm
Though I do highly reccomend sending equipment/trained personnel too if possible.
Mage from Disgaea 7 Apr, 2011 @ 5:28pm
The alternative is sending large amounts of money and/or equipment and/or rescue and medical staff to visit or folding a thousand paper cranes. For those of us who lack medical training and the ability to get to Japan, prayer is the main alternative. It will likely activate various local spirits and/or god(s) (whichever one) and thusly helping build morale and streamline the rescue operations.

instead of praying, how about acting on those prays? cuz lets face it, prays are usless in sitiuations such as these.

Well, Japan is the third biggest economy in the world( China just took 2nd recently) and they can't afford to help thier own people, and in some cases the bureaucracy has delayed process rather than helped it.

Shows you something about the Japanese Government, they are out to win it, for fox, and big corporations, not the little man, but what can you expect from communist.

You guys should read BBC, they got a section on it.
Mage from Disgaea 31 Mar, 2011 @ 9:02pm
I had a thought just now... what if we were to organize some kind of event. A virtual ingame disaster relief thing. Where we... play a bunch of various video games and livestream it for charity?
JillSandwich 31 Mar, 2011 @ 1:31pm
Ignore dem trolls.
Mage from Disgaea 25 Mar, 2011 @ 2:33am
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_T%C5%8Dhoku_earthquake_and_tsunami <- has a few links to news agencies covering the situation.

It seems things have started to get better. 3 of the reactors at the Fukushima-1 plant have reached cold shutdown, and the others are being flooded with seawater to regulate core temprature until the coolant systems can be re-activated.

As well, the Japanese have rapidly begun to repair their infrastructure, allowing emergency relief to get around. So things do seem to be improving, atleast from what I can tell.
JillSandwich 25 Mar, 2011 @ 12:01am
Thank you very much.
Mage from Disgaea 24 Mar, 2011 @ 11:50pm
The Road in the group Avatar is working again.

The Power plants are... still spewing radiation.

I bought some charity hats in TF2.

Utsuho Reiuji has likely suffered a funding cut.

Fortunately, it's mostly getting better it seems!
JillSandwich 24 Mar, 2011 @ 9:06pm
Any place to get news? All the TV news stopped showing Japan news because of the war in Libya (not saying that that war is not worth mentioning, or something).

I don't believe in praying or gods, but I wish the best and a quick recovery for Japan because it's an awesome country and the world benefits from their existance.
