You don't actually have to spend anything beyond your initial pledge. Every single thing people are throwing money at will be available in game and you wont have to spend any money at all.

You're not wrong, the game is a money hungry monster and trial ships are a marketing ploy. Chris Roberts promised that all of the money raised (before release) is going into developing the game and it's obvious from the growing size of the RSI staff + transparency at every level of development that he's keeping his word.

when i started the game i could choose from more ships then just the aurora. Jeeeey! But when my controlls didn't work properly i went to look into it online. There i read that these ships you could choose from were just a 1 week "gift". After which it became clear it was a marketing stunt to make you buy more ships! Nothing has changed. Nothing will change. On paper this game looks amazing! But it's just a money hungry monster. And i hate it for it!

What is your take on it? Maybe you could prove me wrong here. Still willing to try. And you guys play ED and Arma 3 too. Which i love!

Ok guys. I joined the nexus corporation via an invitation by spasmodic on the elite dangerous forum. I got into the mumble server reqruitment channel and talked to reev jax. I was looking for a few people to fly with in ED. Reev jax told me this was mainly a Star Citizen corporation. No problem. I had backed SC about two years ago already. But when the first dogfighting module came out i didn't like it. Looked amazing though!! But, the feeling was terrible. That and with the delays made me not wanting to play that game anymore. Also it dawned on me that this game is, to me, only about money making! It has the worst pay to win mechanic there is. Horrible... Then again. That was some time ago and a fee patches allready came out.
So, i booted up SC. Updated it with 30gb of data. And tried to play it. It wouldn't recognize my x55 throttle controller. When assigning keys it does but it in-game no throttle control. Maybe it's me. I don't know.
