My base is called Cranncathair
It's a world tree village.
The founders of the city travelled far and wide across the planet seeking refuge from the electrical events that frequently destroyed their settlements. After discovering the world tree, they realised they could make their homes well above the dangers of the surface and now dedicate their lives to caring for this towering tree.
The villagers are quite nervous of strangers, so you'll likely only see a few essential workers if you visit.
Warning : Be careful when taking off from the landing pads... if you aren't careful you may fly into the canopy and damage your ship; use of an interceptor or other ship with hover ability is recommended
Place a 'button' item, attach a wire to your power source and the wire from the other side to your hatch connection. Now this switch will control the door.
Automatic doors:
Place a proximity sensor near the door (can be underneath the floor or anywhere nearby as long as it's detection range will trigger when you are near the hatch).
Run a wire from your power source to one side of it and a wire from the other side to the MIDDLE connection on a power inverter.
Run a wire from one side of the inverter to your power source and the wire from the other side to your door connector.
This will turn OFF the power (when you are near) and the door will open. When you leave the detection area the power will return and the door closes.
Welcome to the NMS Builder Community!
Good luck and happy travels!
When I power the room it locks me in or out, what am I doing wrong? I built a cube room in another save and it worked fine. Bug?"
That 'specific' door (the hatch item) has what seems to be 'backward' intelligence.
It will close when it detects power and open when it does not. (no matter what structure you place this in. Above ground, underwater or in space)
Here is how you deal with this.
First you must NOT be in 'base computer power', meaning that (option on the base computer) has to be disabled and you are providing power from either batteries or an EM Generator.
Now that you actually have control over the power in your base, you can specifically control those hatches.
There might be a problem with some of the base parts not rendering properly, so give it some time when approaching the base.
Am continuing to work on the base until the event day, just having a lot of fun actually, feel free to drop in and have a look around and to familiarize yourself with the location.
As a final incentive to come, a good friend made a fantastic suggestion:
Take a guess at the following picture on what is happening here and the closest to my intended set-up gets a Steam Point Award. Submissions open until June 23 so you have time to visit the base and come up with an idea.

There are 2 green bases next to each other: Par 1 Portal Base, has 8 landing platforms around the portal and 3 a little higher up.
Summer Solstice Event Base has another 4 platforms. In the case more will join in, just land anywhere there is room lol.
All landing platforms areas have each a short-range teleporter to the base and within the Event base underneath the platform, are the storage Units, also easily reached with 2 short range teleporters
On one side of the Event Base, you will find all exocraft geobays in case you have any extra fireworks stored in them, also short range teleporter marked by a Sentinel Walker statue.
Enclosed is the planet and system information. It is a paradise planet as long as you are not in Survival game mode, then it changes into an extreme Sentinel one for everyone (Just in case, I have a Sentinel Pillar base marked in red)
Due to Summertime changes, Toronto is -4 UTC (Denmark for example is currently +2 UTC) and not the original -5 as quoted in the opening of the thread.
System: Teyaga WH 1, Planet: Par 1

Been A bit lackadaisical on NMS myself the last few weeks, been jamming on Xenoblade Chronicles X on Switch lately.
But already dig the Look man! 'll have to drop by in A day or so & check it out & knock out the Expedition & let the ole Base Bug A proper feeding.
A bit bare bones at the moment - I wanted to check that this is visible to people. Inside, it's a maze of twisty little passages.
Either together working on one base or separate bases.

Pretty much finished this one today.
My favorite base so far.
Otherwise mine got off easy, the only thing missing is the Forest Environs & Grass Colors associated with what I modeled the area after in my Hometown, was literally A replica, now it's my own Treasure Island & from here on anytime I learn something new, Build some new cool thing, i'll be bringing it there sooner or Later.
By all means, keep it up, keep playing, building & sharing.
Tryshard you have a base near mine in Isdoraijung onStyox XII. Your Serenity. I've put dw at end of my base titles.
THANK YOU!
I didn't know Nomads could work on Water like that! it finally helped make the First base I built into something special, Fishing with A Minotaur!
but it started by replacing the Submarine I had on the Base with A Nomad to reach the Deep Sea portion of the Base.
This may be easier, it's A year old & I'm at work so I can't check every step to see if anything has changed & I'm just scattered enough to not recall the process in action, but it seems pretty straightforward & not far from what steps I DO recall in this process.
I am Seriously wondering if some ya'll aren't devs slumming it with regular goofs!
The place was AWESOME, I had to Help my Friends Mother through her various Foot Surgeries & I've seen enough Hospitals for my own issues & this is amazing.
I always note the real bits first for some reason & having the Side emergency Door right next to the Landing Pad clinched it, leads right to an ER & details like that show are forethought & knowledge I really enjoy, Like A Lighthouse on an Island Paradise & so forth.
also the wonders side by side as Centrifuges for "samples" & the Patterning of the outside floor tiles!
Number Code is
4, 1, 11, 10, 16, 9, 6, 14, 14, 4, 6, 11
So I wanted to Load this up now as when this Expedition Starts i'm going to end up going "Dark" Thursday - Sunday are work days & i'll pretty much be staying offline for what time I get to spend in the Game. I'll be around here though, as verbose & chatty (unfortunately)
It's become it's own thing & by A NUMBER of sheer chance placements (I REALLY had no idea the Sun rises from the Direction it does when I started, i'm not that patient & all I was trying to make was A Pier!) but these many "mistakes: made this Base became something Special & as of Yesterday now has the Only Railgun Skeeball in NMS & as close A facsimile to the Winchester Mystery House A series of screw ups & bad ideas could make (which I am SO MAKING now that I remember it!)
It's still A WIP as i'm still thinking of how to deck out the internal viewing area.
As for posting Portal Coordinates, I've seen folks just using the numbers the symbols represent.
I had to have A screenshot of the List from A wiki or something.
If you check the previous message I left with the Link, the Number based sequence looks like this.
6, 1, 10, 5, 9, 7, 14, 8, 7, 7, 5, 4
That's what's made it easier for me with portal codes, then again I DID just start using the method this afternoon so.....hope for the best, still thinking smoke signals might be more efficient in my case.
Ok Round 3!
Why 3 you ask!?
The Locations is in Euclid Galasxy & I entered it in Eissentam!
Anyway, thanks for the patience folks, if this doesn't work i'll just try Cenaphore flags or Smoke Signals.
Super for being her,..
I found a very nice paradise planet in Euclid a while back. If you're looking for a nice place to build a base, you might consider this planet. Here's the thread: https://eo.steamhost.cc/steamcommunity_com/app/275850/discussions/0/4751948599935964740/
