I think thats important to the gameplay of HL2 - when damage of player`s weapon is equal to damage, thats enemy`s weapon got!
It will plays cool with more powerful automatic weapon and pistol( just little more powerful, like in HL1, it won`t spoil the gameplay, just refresh it a bit)
You cold also change reserve of a player`s cartriges , for example to "magnum" ( maybe 18 cartriges instead of 12 in reserve)

I really like that it is standalone. I just installed CM2013 this morning (because reasons...) and now I can play 'em both and compare stuff. Awesome!
