It's literally right there in the description. Also it pops up if you google it.

Yeah, copy pasting the chip in will cause an error, compare the source file with what is in your editor and see if it matches up, if its the wrong number of lines check where it ended and make sure to copy it in in segments.

I put it in through files and its fixed, thanks for the help dude
richard cheese 13 Jun, 2019 @ 2:27pm
I didnt mess with the chip but I did copy paste it in
Dakota 13 Jun, 2019 @ 2:24pm
Did you edit the chip any? Did you just copy the text and try to paste it into gmod's e2 editor? It might be that you hit the character limit on the copy and not everything is copied.

Stuff like

Right parenthesis ()) missing, to close grouped equation at line 171, char 51
richard cheese 13 Jun, 2019 @ 2:18pm
Mostly parenthesis ones

Errors with the E2? What kind of errors is it throwing out?

I'm getting quite a few errors with the hud chip, is there any way to fix it?

If I happen to be on gmod next time you're on I'd be happy to take a look at the issue.
Kahldin 4 Jul, 2018 @ 12:52am
:steamfacepalm: Okay... cleaned up that second prop. Guns still fall loosely when unfrozen, so I'll just keep fiddling with it and see if I did a bad somewhere else. It's not a game breaker, but I'll see if it happens again on tank #2. "Tanks" for your time, Dakota.

I generally use 50kg on the aimers and the turret baseplates. Why do you have two aimer props with only one turret? You should just have one aimer prop, the 25mm cannon for example, then you parent your main gun and the coaxial gun to a gate that is parented to the aimer.
Kahldin 4 Jul, 2018 @ 12:31am
Plate model is an Sprops geometry 'fdisc_60'. The aimer props are 25mm cannon and mg9mm.
They all weighed about 1kg, oops. Whole tank weighs about 10,000kg. Also noting that when I freeze the turret plate, the guns go back to their correct positions.

Turret entity on the controller would be set to the turret plate, the props on the turret would be parented to a gate that is parented to the turret base plate. Could you tell me the models of the turret baseplate and aimer prop you are using. Also the weights you are using for both.
Kahldin 3 Jul, 2018 @ 11:16pm
No change. Some rather violent reactions when setting them to 50, but not 200 for some reason. Could it be the turret? I parented all turret props to the turret plate, also the 'Turret Entity' is the turret plate. Should it be the gate instead?
Dakota 3 Jul, 2018 @ 10:51pm
try making the aimer prop and the turret baseplate the same weight.
Kahldin 3 Jul, 2018 @ 10:39pm
The guns do turn with the turret, but they wobble uncontrolably when I turn, taking some time to settle before I can make accurate shots. In the image below you can see after I've unfrozen the props, the guns fall out of place (they're suppose to go in those gray nubs).

Sorry for the inconsistently spaced comments.
Dakota 3 Jul, 2018 @ 8:31pm
The guns should aim properly at where you look when active, do the guns aim towards target?
Kahldin 3 Jul, 2018 @ 7:19pm
Many thanks. Been working on a tank over the last couple days and the video really helped.

One small issue has arisen though. Both guns in the turret go kinda limp when I activate the vehicle. Can this be helped, or not?
Dakota 3 Jul, 2018 @ 4:53pm
The turret controller goes on the hull with the little arrow facing in the direction that you want to be the forward direction of the turret. The gun hardpoint is axised to the turret plate in such a way that the gun can move up and down in pitch while the turret plate handles the yaw. This tutorial video goes indepth into tank building in DakTank. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7TTy339XzA&feature=youtu.be

A few questions concerning turrets: Does the Turret Controller go onto the turret plate? And, what constraints to I apply to the gun hardpoints on the turret plate? Thanks in advance for replies.
