hello guys thx for the invite!

I was wondering how is the payment method? already 2 months since my item got released and no word, just curious
Foe 23 Aug, 2012 @ 10:58pm
I spent about an hour or two trying to figure that out. The mannconomy TF2 blog update boasted 2 million in profit for workshop artists. with about 93 individual items (Rough count)(excludes promotion items for specific games.) items counted as community made items during that year excluding october 13th update. so with basic math i was able to come up with a flat average of $21,000 per item. now with more factors added, such as seniority of an item and numerous others, it has been shown we can get upwards of $10,000 increments in one year alone. This is solely based on TF2 numbers, and based on Steam server stats, I believe that this is an acheivable number in one year of sales. But dont be expecting $20,000 lump sum checks anytime soon. I see that we can get 1-2k USD starting the sales and it will slump down until around 300-500$ per month afterwards unless valve sells it for free.

yep, but not every item comes into bundles, how they decide it?
i made that calculations with the mace too, i read i dont remember were, that was about 20k keys that opened a chest with the mace
one guy also told on polycount that each key gives 40 cents
Foe 23 Aug, 2012 @ 12:04am
24,603 users spent money on keys to open the chest and ultimately receive the mace. The Key word is the KEYS... Each key is 2.50 ea. so at 25% it would earn $15,000 if they were all bought through the chest system in a rough number estimate.

I hear that the Timebreaker be sold 25000 unit before kick out ?how much it is ?if it is $4.means the author can earn $25000 ?

Also to add, Due to the low numbers of item's in the shop right now. Currently it is the golden age to start making items before valve releases Dota 2. What i suspect is that the boom with newer consumers will let us have a good boost in our income.
T_Vidotto 22 Aug, 2012 @ 11:28pm
if someone says that i could live doing dota itens i will quit my job tomorrow hahaha
Foe 22 Aug, 2012 @ 11:21pm
Now, Im no lawyer, but my idea is that valve has the legal agreement to protect itself as with every game/film company out there with their silly silly NDA's. Valve will pay out 25% of adjusted gross revenue. Gross Revenue is money generated by all of a company's operations, before deductions for expenses. So, technically from my understanding is that if your item is sold $1.00 each you get a technical range of <25% of that dollar earned and then the expenses for overhead are calculated in by valve. If they are losing money they have the right to let those overhead costs bleed into the workshop items and deduct it from payouts in-case this happens. So unless Valve is not running a sustainable buisness model, we're losing money.

I'm kind of curious as well. I'm holding off submitting more work till I see what kind of income is generated from submissions.

You can see details on payment in this legal document, section 3.

Foe 19 Aug, 2012 @ 8:08pm
I Invited everyone whom has submitted items and has at least 1 item in the Dota 2 Shop. If you know someone that has not fit the latter half of the requirement but are at an intermediate to professional level of skill in reguards to the workshop, by all means invite them.
