Hi everyone,

Quite a few of you may remember a friend of ours from the gmod and minecraft days, Ferocious Thorn (also known as Ferocious and thornussell). I just found out today that he passed away March 16th this year, at the age of 23.

Jeremy and I had some fun adventures together online that I will never forget. He was a part of Metal Military in its infancy.

If any of you want to collaborate and organize something in his memory, please let me know...

Due to the recent release of infinite procedural worlds, in-game programming and improvements to performance, the Space Engineers server has migrated to a new, infinite map! I invite anyone wanting a place to try out survival mode to come join us. Currently the map contains no starbases, and only 2 factions with vessels being worked on. The AugRes faction itself only has 2 active members currently, and is definitely seeking anyone that wishes to join a more established setup. For anyone that wants to lone wolf, we gladly accept you! It will only make the server more rich to play on with more people overall.

In the interest of making this early setup period easier for players, I've buffed some elements of survival gameplay.

• Welding speed has a nice 80% buff to it to make larger ships or stations easier to establish.
  
  
• Grinding speed has a 50% buff to make salvaging easier for players that want to change what they make or recover "lost" ships from others.
  
  
• "Hacking" speed (grinding other people's owned items) has a DEBUFF of 40% to offset the increased grinder speed.
  
  
• Assemblers are 50% more efficient in usage of items when crafting.
  
  
• Assemblers are 3x faster than base survival when crafting items.
  
  
• Character inventory has been increased to 1600 litres to make early construction easier without construction ships.

The server has mods for several things, including "stylized" blocks to make worn / battered ships (cheaper to build, but break easier and have rust), NASA themes, and 3 small weapon additions we selected after testing what was available on the workshop for balance, visual and audio effects etc.

I should also mention that thanks to the addition of blueprints, players can now make creations in singleplayer, save them and bring them to the server to weld. While you will still need the components for the ship or station, it can make the initial layout far easier and be used to fully automate production in many cases!

I hope people find these changes satisfactory, and perhaps we can see some population growth as a result. Ideally, I'd like to see some fleet combat and maybe even bandit factions spring up, with all this extra space to hide! If we see a need in the near future, I am open to performing potentially large server hardware upgrades to keep stability and uptime high for players.
