Best group ever, about when the keys where getting to 15 ref the admins were obviously trying to be ♥♥♥♥♥ and let the economy die...

Anybody notice the earbud manipulation by a backpack.tf admin (puddington)? http://backpack.tf/vote/id/54a08491b88d88d1308b4e5e
Lois griffin 3 Dec, 2014 @ 6:18pm
@awesome McCoolName, kind of. I want a balanced system. Votes shoud be worth as much as admins desicion. I think if its a bigger item it should need more votes. that item only got 200 votes, and they were most likely in league
If say 10k people said that, than thats what they are willing to pay. Thats how economy works, law cannot dictate price. It didnt work for the Romans and wont for tf2

I was banned for saying "No." in a key suggestion, WTH aren't we supose to argue about the price and everything there?

@Louis,
This is why votes don't matter: http://backpack.tf/vote/id/52f074794cd7b85d518b4568
Up for over a day, 103 upvotes, 33 downvotes. Would you still like prices to be based solely off of votes?
boloney 25 Feb, 2014 @ 5:07pm
bp.tf is really good i think. it provides a good frame of reference.
Lois griffin 23 Feb, 2014 @ 9:58pm
I was looking through the backpack.tf discussions about keys and found head admin Brad Pitt say this
"Now, voting. If prices would be set solely by votes, there would be no need for admins. I remember voting was basically the most important thing on suggestions before, but it all changed with, I believe, the BMOC. People started trying to manipulate the BMOC's price and voting became pretty much useless. The BMOC was being traded for, let's say, 14 keys. Someone suggested 14 keys and people downvoted because "they didn't want the price to be 14 keys". Too bad, the price WAS actually 14 keys. Saif we accepted a 4 ref suggestion for keys because it has 5000 votes and everyone wants the keys to be 4 ref, then, as you're saying that backpack.tf has a huge impact on trading, wouldn't we be manipulating the price of keys?"

Why shouldn't the price be what the market WANTS to pay for it. This shows the admins complete and total control over prices that are accepted.

RAY YOU ARE 100% CORRECT!!! You are exactly right. The admins aparently have the power to accept or close any suggestion they want whether or not it was over or under 50%. If you don't believe me you can scroll over the accpeted and closed stickers. The admins and even the owner just accept what they want, but give the pointless option to vote to make it look like it's a democratic representation, but in reality is a dictatorship almost. If you call them out on the fact they are raising thier own value they just ban you. I was arguing with everyone's "favorite" admin clerpun over this. He said that if you are disagreeing with them, its irrelevant to the converstaion, so you must be banned. After I started winning the conversation, he un-friended me and just banned me for 4 months. HE JUST HAD THE POWER TO BAN ME FOR AS LONG AS HE WANTED!!

bp.tf was great at first, but there is a crucial problem where there are several person who have the power to change any prices they want, or what we known as "admins" for bp.tf. These incompetent fools have so much power that they can make changes to the "value" of any unusual and item in tf2. Also, just take a look at the "active contributors" who are the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of the admins. They are simply aiming to raise the value of their own items, and they are not even reputable, some of them are BANNED users on outpost, such as no_revenue, who is banned permanently on op for selling hijacked item. Knowing this, how are they still "reputable"? Why are they allowed to make "contribution", but aiming to disrupt the market and causes further chaos that is already on the trading market? This imbalance of power is exactly why I am quitting trading, there is not a trade that I made without a bp.tf worshipper suggesting their item is worth as much as mine, or even more according to bp.tf.

bp.tf is the reason that I cashed out and stopped tf2, when i first started tf2 no one really cared about the prices of stuff. People were just trading for things that they like not like the new generations of traders who just want to make a profit out of trading. It takes away the fun of the game and the fun that trading used to provide. bp.tf is controlling the the prices like crazy, oh hey I am an admin hmmmm let me see if this price change affects me......OH HEYYY I got 200+ keys you want to make keys worth more? WELL OF COURSE YOU CAN! Ok now let me sell my keys
Time's 2006 Person of the Year 14 Jan, 2014 @ 4:26am
The only good I can say about bp.tf is the layout, it is nice and it has some convient things to estimate your backpack's worth. I can only pray they continue to be unsuccessful in expanding to other games. For now, dota and cs:go is like what tf2 used to be. I offered something someone wanted, they offered something I wanted and a trade happened. Bartering at its finest. Not what tf2 is where now everyone wants to haggle you for an extra reclaimed because in some site says thats what they should do. And thats the real gripe with bp.tf, they took away the exchange of goods based on functionality and made it a strict formula. Being in the know about the market isn't rewarded with a site like bp.tf. Everything is now rigid and every trade now has the potential to turn into a shouting match over the smallest difference.
Time's 2006 Person of the Year 14 Jan, 2014 @ 4:26am
One of the main reasons I quit tf2 trading after having over $1000 in stuff is that bp.tf started to be quoted like it was a holy book. I did not want to leave my value to a bunch of idiots that would vote to devalue thier items. Refined is collasping and eventually will only be worth pennies. When this happens, the item drops start to be worth less. For christ sake look what they did to bills hat!!! That hat had a steady prices for YEARS. Then oh well yea if you search around ofcourse your gonna find a slightly better deal and bam bills price directly affected by bp.tf. Them admins end up controlling the price more than the actual market and sometimes overule hundreds of others. Bp.tf likes to pretend its a democracy but its not. Its funny cuz their defenders llike to say , oh its what the consenus is except alot of times it isn't. Congradulations tf2ers, a few people now can functionally control the price of all items, most items they themselves never had or never will.

To commebt below, key prices ARE pretty high, but I don't really see how that benefits key sellers? Most of the time they just buy at low end and sell at high end, usually making 1 scrap per key. I personally have alot of keys myself and I couldnt care less what they are worth in ref as long as they retain their USD value, as I use them solely for buying games/unusuals. I pretty much avoid refined like the plague due to their diminishing value in terms of USD. Although I do like the post key rise economy better than the mess it is now.
Also, you realize that kicking me from the group for making a polite constructive arguement also means I can't make a reply to your questions on the discussion? -.-
Backpack.tf mods are abusive and corrupt to an extent to an extent, although not for the key prices, whichi they are actually behind on. Backpack.tf is mostly corrupt in terms of unusuals, as influencial as they are.
Lois griffin 8 Jan, 2014 @ 9:31pm
Hey everyone I was just throw of backpack.tf for 4 months. Everyone knows that douchebag admin, cleverpun (no games, fan dying) who would ban everyone who said anything bad about keys. Well I friended him and called him out on it. We got into an argument and he then perma -banned me. Then I started to look through his backpack and discovered he has a ♥♥♥♥ ton a keys. HE IS A GREEDY KEY SLAESMAN. NO WONDER HE DEFFENDS KEY PRICES WITH HIS LIFE!!!!!! I took screnshots of the conversation.
