Not even kidding and no sarcasm intended.
Ive just made a discussion about the disturbance, if anyone wants to talk about it they can join in. If they dont they still might join in and derail the discussion, or the discussion doors will close permenantly on us forever? who knows what could happen. Ive pointed out my save data just going missing so theres that, Quite an important issue if you ask me, if you apply this disturbance to everyone at the same time it could get quite riveting. Imagine millions of us just all lose our game progress at the same time precisely how I've lost mine recently, having trusted the cloud save feature. It feels discussion worthy. Theres a discussion to be had here surely.
If it is not directly on your computer drive then you don't really control what happen with that data. Simple logic. Add to this that it is extremely well known that there is often issues with it which could either corrupt or override your data and this happen way more often the higher the amount of unique machines/client connected to the cloud in any given time.
I think OP should take a break from clown farming and actually create the software that they want. With such strong opinions and an unwavering commitment to quality that matches their values, there would be at least five users around the world that would be very happy with such an implementation.
In one case the games admins have made it so the game doesnt recognise my local data, which would have been the exact same data on the cloud that just went missing apparently they didnt waste time to say they are not responsible which is alarming. So I have a backup of my progress, the game ignores it and steam cloud lost my progress which is rather concerning, anyone trying to derail this discussion should take this fact into concideration. I have blocked the persron who has done a deep dive on my post history because thats creepy and aggressive, why do you need to barrel into my history to be involved in this discussion, thats just derailing but we all know discussions come with this sort of interference.
Please dont forget that my missing progress was just an issue off the top of my head, there are so many issues. It would be great if we could all come together as a community and maybe stop this non sense from happening. If people aren't taking this matter seriously I feel sorry for them beccuase our data just vanishing at the snap of someone else's finger is more than disturbing. If it happened to all of us the platform may just never recover, its an important issue that should be resolved.
The one not taking this seriously is you.
1 on disk, 1 on external disk and 1 on cloud.
There is a reason why this is a thing.
That's for the topic of cloud save doing seppuku.
I hate to break it to you. But, no matter WHO host the data for you. Always keep a physical copy on your end if you care THAT much about it.
Anyone with a minimum of credibility when it comes to data security will tell you the same.
Doesn't matter if it's Valve, Microsoft, Apple or some random service you might be using.
Never 100% trust the cloud.
Are you implying a devs went out of their way to target YOU and delete your savefile or some ♥♥♥♥ along those lines?
