it has been asked and suggested in the Steam Ideas and Suggestion sub-forum several times. So Valve is aware of this request.

Pointless imo tags already cover this. and will be auto sorted if you did the dynamic collection.

So it actual dont matter how wishlist show them, you put them there game most have a i want that accordng to you, and then you buy them its sorted by tags.

You might no know this, there is a reason you simple stop use stadard steam library then you are feedup with keep have to sort bught items in categorys.

ps.
you first see this auto sorting new bought tiles if collection match them tags.
and its inhere wishlist categories is almost useless waste of time to fix it.

I think you need to have dynamic collection and tags categories to see my point, wishlist sorting is pointless, other then idea sounds good but, you want things sortewd you dont own, and wishlist is not a steam sale pitch. ( thats actual the problem here. ) wishlist already work as it was, sorting in things you wish or will remove, seems like a overkill.

I rather want to enter my maximum buying price for each game, and getting a message if said price was hit.

Would it make even easier for Valve, and the publishers.
