Unlikely. I'm not a historian so I can't say when the political system turned partisan, but the US has basically been split into 2 opposing tribes for a while. And even though their more democratic-ish aligned party tries to keep the country afloat, their opponents are primarily just working to undo whatever progress has been made to sink the ship faster.

Hadn't seen this reply yet either.
This song is even 6 minutes, and I'm the 6th reply.
In fact, as an outside observer, most division I see is people mimicing issues out of the United States, rather than localised issues. I often see people identify as 'MAGA' when they live in Europe or Australia etc.
We even have politicians here in Australia who literally wear MAGA hats and chant the slogans, when the 'A' is not for 'Australia'.
Discusses the path to today as being a path decades in the making. It's an eye opener. Many of the players in today's 'conflict' have been at it a long time.
Going to admit, didn't realise my use of the past tense on that one. I blame Sigmund.
the division began when the woke left pushed identity politics down everyone's throats. before 2012 everyone was an american first. race, gender, political views were irrelevant and secondary to someone's identity
Cultural marxism
There must always be a victim and an oppressor
Just to name a couple of specific events involving race and gender, Watts Riots (1960s) and Suffragettes (19th Amendment - 1920) with political views shaped if not cemented as far back as the Civil War. Fair to say, today's events are simply a culmination.
I also requested you keep the blame game slogans and jingoism out of it. I don't care who is 'at fault', the question is what can be done about it?
