IDK, the 2025 list seems pretty eclectic. More varied than the all-time at least.
hehe
Im not listening to metal now, honest
well, I would never say such things :D
I only somewhat enjoy MBV from that.
You can make the all time list eclectic by using “diverse” filter. That will reduce each artist/group to only appear once.
And no point in eclectic at least for me if it mostly sucks.
The year is not the point. I check out new releases as they come out. It’s just something that I do and it’s just lackluster this year.
I missed like what exactly? I listen to a lot more albums than most people.
Then, you might not have heard the really cheesy mainstream EDM. I have to physically leave the place if I hear it.
RYM is like the music version of iMDB and the charts are just based on how people rated the albums / releases. It’s mostly an underground music thing but being a hipster is no longer cool and the certain portion of the user base now follows mainstream music. So, now suddenly, we would see Taylor Swift at the top. It’s the “I’ve transcended past underground music and now I ironically listen to mainstream music again” vibe.
In other words, it was a good place to find underground and niche music. Be ahead of the curve but now you’ll see Miley Cyrus music rated 4 out of 5.
