Just turn HDR off and put the monitor in sRGB mode, you can't really get/do HDR on a single backlit IPS screen and it will probably just be an all round poor experience.

Only good HDR is OLED or an LCD with 1000+ backlight zones.

how do you put monitor in sRGB mode? also i thought IPS monitors had better colors so i didnt buy VA one i could gotten VA for same price as i got this monitor and it had 1000HDR but i was reading that IPS offer better colors and more variety of colors?
VA are trash - image smearing .To disable HDR , right click on the desktop->HDR ,disable it

It will be in the monitor menu if it has one.

Yeah IPS has better colours but that's not just what HDR is, it's a long subject to get in to and there are lots of complaints about the HDR tag on a box of a monitor that isn't really HDR, makes HDR look bad to those who don't know what they are buying and is false advertising that shouldn't be allowed.

If you want good HDR you need to buy OLED or LCD (IPS/VA) with at least 1000 backlit zones, I'll be honest too it's a £200 monitor, you won't find good HDR till you hit the £500+ mark, you can get an OLED for just under £500 now.

You have a single backlit panel, that means you can't do pure black next to white and can't track EOTF like you need to for HDR.

If you want to get an idea here are some vids.

For true HDR you need an OLED or mini LED. An IPS or VA panel is only suitable for SDR. It can sort of simulate HDR to a point, but it always looks washed out and wrong.

Mini LED is a backlight technology that goes behind a LCD panel aka IPS/VA, the review I posted above is a Mini LED IPS screen.

Micro RGB backlighting is here too which boosts the colour gamut even more for IPS/VA.
10 min mark.

Now Micro LED is like OLED in the fact it is self emissive but start around the $100,000K mark and 100 inches+ for a screen so not cheap.

i usually reduce the display brightness on any monitor . HDR demands high nits . no chance .negligible return ,only eyes pain

OLED screens ain't that bright in fairness, most only do around 250 nits full screen best does just above 300 nits. You only get high nits at 2% of the screen, most highlights will sit in the 400 nits range and why OLED only gets HDR400 rating for most.

Plus you can dim brightness for desktop use as usual.

if you use HDR you cant use any gaming preset settings
Native color gamut on the panel will help with HDR, at least for Mini-LED. sRGB will be washed. Then we get into true 8-bit/10-bit vs false. HDR likes true 10-bit color.

Do you really just enter random threads to say things are trash? This is a recurring theme that has me worried about your mental state and well being.
