While NVIDIA way back said those GPUs would be dropped by 580 or 581, tbat changed when MS extended Win10 support for general public until Oct 2026.... so I can't understand why this change. I realize the drivers are different and all between WinOS vs Linux but still.
Anyways I don't see a problem. No one should be on GTX GPUs at all anymore. If they are they aren't serious about gaming whatsoever and should stick to Win10 or maybe something like Ubuntu

I have two affected gpus currently deployed on Arch linux - a GTX 980 and a GTX 1060 6gb. I just won't update them until the dust settles a bit. I may do a full OS re-install, that will take less time than messing around with the terminal.
