Can PC's really be "torrented"?
I'm not talking about "torrenting" games or software, instead it's more on "torrenting" an actual computer (since the real brand is expensive) the knockoff one appears for a cheaper price with a catch: it may look and feel like the real thing with a catch: the real hardware has all the listed specs (high end ones) while the "fake" version has similar ones but with a lower tier.

While the real SSD on a genuine PC actually meets the advertised amount (i.e. 5TB is 5TB along with an actual RTX 5090) but the knockoff one claims to have 8TB SSD or a Ryzen 9 however upon inspecting further into the SSD, it actually reads 8GB (also the "Ryzen 9" is closer to an i3), would you buy the "fake" PC for cheap or spend more on the real product?

Erm, 7800X3D and 7900 XTX here, no need for anything else.

Is it me or is that confusing...

So are you asking would I spend more to buy a good PC or less on a fake scam PC pretending to be a good PC, how would I know it's a scam (price obviously) or are you saying to buy it knowing it's a scam but still might be ok for the money?

If you re so fearful and indecisive , you ll never get a pc or a laptop .Buy from a reputable seller who provides warranty

Why would anyone knowingly buy a dodgy scam pc with fake specs?.....

there are some faked gpus
that claim to be a higher end model, but actually a low end gpu
gpuz and hardware ids would appear as the higher end, but the amd/nvidia drivers would not work with them, and would only work with the faked driver that translates them to the lower model

its harder to do that with a cpu, as the mobo would need to know how to identify and treat the faked ones and make them work as what they claim to be, along with drivers

A cheaper way to play games without requiring you to pay for hardware is that you can play on cloud services if you have a strong internet connection, and also you should pay for a subscription. It's cost-worthy, especially if you are not a hardcore gamer and you don't play games regularly; you can pay for its subscription whenever you are in the mood to play games.

But if you are looking for something free that can run games, then NO.

Considering circular economy is a thing then why not to be impossible?

You don't want to buy new RAM because it is expensive but some guy who works in a basement somewhere in China is selling refurbished kits and thus the price is lower? It is a russian roulette but american style so instead of revolers it is with wallets.

a $30 RTX 5090

I understand what the OP means; he means some kind of a technology bypass and turnaround (what word should I use in English?). or even an innovation to make powerful VGA with significantly lower production costs and finally a lower price.

But if anyone can succeed in making such a powerful VGA with a much lower price, they don't need to name it RTX 590 or RX 9000 anymore; they can implement their own VGA company and brand to become a rivalry with Nvidia and AMD.

I just don't understand if these video cards are powerful and cost-effective, why should they name it RTX 5090?? Simply create your own company and brand.

They don't have to create new hardware or manifacture copy cats. They can mod the GPUs like how RTX4090 got 48GB VRAM mod and that makes it cheaper than RTX 6000 Ada / L40.

tldr its a gtx 1060 6g with modded bios to make it look like a 5090

not a bad deal for the 1060 6g, but its poor cooling, and buggy faked gpu bios still make it problematic
that and its not a real 5090, but it does good enough not to return it

intel is in the gpu market with their arc gpus
but they have their own problems
no hardware dx9 support, the drivers need to convert dx9 code to dx10+ so the gpu can run it
takes extra cpu
for newer dx10+ games, they are fine
the arc b580 is close to a rtx 5050
https://technical.city/en/video/GeForce-RTX-5050-vs-Arc-B580

but you can get a 5050 for $200, vs the arc b580 at around $250

There were also people who are taking laptop CPUs nd rework them to fit in desktop sockets.
Same with some mobile GPUs.

when nvidia was making the mining gpus without the dp/dvi/hdmi outputs, there are modded laptop drivers to use them with intel igpus on desktops

at the time, it was a good enough gpu for around $50 less than the full version
