You better not upgrade to this fake Wind 12 aka Win 11 1.1 .........
Windows becomes worse and worse with every update.
Quite frankly. If Windows 11 is anything to go by. I'm not thrilled to see what they are going to do to Windows 12. I'm willing to bet more AI nonsense baked in. Which is something I don't want within my OS.
who says there will be win12???

nothing confirmed from microsoft, its just fanboys romanticising it

Who says there won't be? We can speculate if we want to. We don't need your permission.
IF there is another windows version any pc will handle it regardless. Win 11 only requires a dual core cpu, 4gb ram and a basic monitor. MS will cater to the masses, that's where the money is.

4 gb?

Yeah, I guess if all you run is Windows and nothing else beyond toying with file explorer, you can absolutely make due with 4gb.
It probably will be a free upgrade to some. likely not free to those that refused to downgrade to windows 11

I wouldn't be surprised if they try a subscription model for W12
Let me shake my magic 8-ball and look into the future for you...

I read a long time ago in a trade magazine that Microsofts vision for the future was to have the OS hardcoded into the machine, permanently connected to the web and all there software would be available to everyone with the time spent using it billed at a per minute or per second rate.

With roughly around 30m users online at any given point in time charging just 1c an hour and each user only using paid software for 30mins a day that alone would raise more than most can count.
if not free then you should be able to find keys for less than $20

The world uses Linux 100% of its data centers and servers.
If Windows 12 isn't a complete revolution based on Linux with DirectX 13, then updates will be free.

i asked this the chatbot of windows "copilot". it was said, that the upgrade is free and has two different versions. one for AI cpus (i ithink they are called NPU) und one for normal cpus. you can use AI functions with the normal cpus and they are done on the microsoft server and the NPU's are able to make AI stuff on your client. so no one who has windows 11 running on his machine, needs a new computer for windows 12.
thx for reading.

No, you pay with all your data, time, stability of your system, etc.

I'm surprised they haven't just made Windows completely free so they can really lean in to "premium" subscription services, advertising, and AI. That seems to be the direction they're heading.
