forums are no longer a reason to use steam over EGS

Since there's a high chance of getting banned for no reason and there are no rules that we can actually read to know what is or isn't bannable, the idea of having a discussion board is irrelevant. It might as well not exist, since discussions and conversation are not allowed here.

The forums should exist for the community to discuss ideas, not for developers and their mods to take out their personal issues on random steam customers. Alas, it's just meant as a trap to punish people for having different opinions. It's kind of perverted in that way.

Just one more reason why other storefronts are taking market share while steam buries it's head and pretends it's too big to fail.

Often, people claim to be in trouble for their opinions, entirely omitting them voicing those opinions in an uncivilized manner. Also, not all opinions are, in fact, acceptable. Example: the opinion that all humans have an equal right to existence is acceptable. The opinion that certain kinds of humans (who really are just born this way, not chose to be this way) must disappear, that's not acceptable. Well, that, and it is in fact entirely possible to voice acceptable opinions in an unaccaptable manner.

The OP's post history is quite ranty overall. This might, in fact, have something to do with the bans.

Forums are not hard to use. Follow the rules, be nice and nobody will ban you. But they are probably the last reason to use Steam over Epic anyway. Frankly, I don't see reasons to use Steam OVER Epic, as there's no rule nor law saying we can't use both. They're not mutually exclusive.
Edit: I myself don't use Epic because I don't like their exclusivity-focused business model. It makes me think that they don't trust their own service's quality.

I would agree so far as the game forums themselves, they really aren’t worth using with no objective rule set in place and you put yourself at risk of losing account functionality with the massively flawed automated community ban system. The steam community forums are alright though, so long as you stick to the rules it’s very hard to get banned here.

But but...! Those rules don't specifically say I can't call fake user billy bob 4378578538753 a toilet brush. So why should I be moderated for calling him a toilet brush? These rules are so unclear and confusing!!!

community features is the only thing Steam has that Epic doesn't. Epic excels at everything else.

In future, state such stuff. Something like "reading the above post flows so well, it's like staking on ice, weeeeeeeee". Just some context for others to actually understand what you mean. Because if you don't say it, nobody knows it is about comparing it to skating on ice.
