Celebrating 6 years of Planet Zoo!

Hayo Zookeepers, today we are celebrating a special milestone.

It’s the sixth anniversary of Planet Zoo and we wanted to take the opportunity to thank you all for your continued support and love for the game over the years.

Since we launched Planet Zoo back in 2019 we’ve been blown away by the creativity, passion and dedication of you, the community! From beautiful environments and habitats for animals to thrive in, to jaw-dropping zoos both big and small, Planet Zoo has become a way for us all to express our love of animals, and to share the importance of their welfare and conservation across the globe.

But what does the future hold? Well, today we are delighted to reveal that we are hard at work on a sequel to Planet Zoo! We’re really excited about this project, and we look forward to sharing more with you next year!

- Resolved various crashes, improving game stability.
Animals
- Fixed Raccoon Dog's chin appearing jagged.
- Updated Raccoon Dog's natural habitat map to match the region list.
- Updated Indian Elephant's natural habitat map to match the region list.
- Updated the Greater Rhea education board to match biomes shown in the zoopedia.

The Planet Zoo: Asia Animal Pack is available now! Featuring 7 new animals, over 100 scenery items inspired by the Asian continent and a brand new scenario.

Uncover the beauty of Asia with this latest animal pack, featuring the fearless Honey Badger. This highly intelligent mustelid has incredible strength and a bad attitude when it comes to potential predators, they have been known to take on elephants and rhinos!

The Japanese Raccoon Dog, also known as the Tanuki is popular in Japanese folklore and culture. Their facial masks resemble Raccoons, however they are not closely related. Japanese Raccoon Dogs are also the only canid known to hibernate.

The Nilgai is the largest antelope in Asia, common across the Northern Indian subcontinent, the name literally translates to Blue Cow. Males can weigh almost 300kg and reach a height of up to 1.5m to the shoulder.

This pack also includes the Bornean Elephant, Smallest subspecies of the Asian elephant family. The Blackbuck, with its long spiral-shaped horns. The maned Lion-Tailed Macaque and also the fascinating Père David's Deer. These 7 animals are some of the most extraordinary that Asia has to offer and will allow you to create stunning zoos that your guests will flock to.

The Asia Animal Pack also features over 100 brand new scenery pieces inspired by the Asian continent, bringing a blend of natural beauty and cultural charm. Winding pathways adorned with delicate flower lanterns, colourful benches that invite moments of rest, vivid light blocks and intricate decorative panels, are sure to create a lively, festive atmosphere at any zoo! Together, these and many more scenery pieces weave a rich tapestry of colour, light, and tradition, where guests can experience a small taste of Asia’s vibrant culture.

Dominic Myers is back once again and this time he is determined to breathe new life into a long-forgotten zoo in South Korea. Dominic has formed an unlikely bond with a playful Japanese Raccoon dog named Nugget. Help them to re-establish the zoo and reconnect with the local community!

This pack features 7 brand new animals, including the fearless Honey Badger, The playful Japanese Racoon Dog and the swift Blackbuck. The Asia Animal pack also features over 100 brand new scenery pieces inspired by the continent and a brand new campaign scenario to enjoy.

SEVEN INCREDIBLE NEW ANIMALS

Alongside the Honey Badger, Japanese Raccoon Dog and the Blackbuck, this pack also includes the mysterious Nilgai; Asia's largest antelope, the social Lion-Tailed Macaque, the unique looking Père David's Deer and the smallest subspecies of elephant in the world - the Bornean Pygmy Elephant. The Planet Zoo: Americas Animal Pack is now available!

This brand new DLC features Iconic animals from the diverse Americas region. Featuring 7 exclusive new species, over 80 incredible new scenery items and an exciting new campaign scenario.

SEVEN NEW SPECIES

The fast and wiley Coyote, revered in folklore. These new world canines can be found across almost the whole of North America.

Ocelot's are efficient climbers, leapers and swimmers! These medium sized wild cats can be found in tropical and sub-tropical parts of South and Central America.

The Greater Rhea is the largest native bird in the Americas. These flightless birds can be found in South America and are related to Ostriches and Emus.

The Bush Dog is a native of Central and South America. These pack animals are just at home in the water as they are on land, due to their partially webbed feet.

This pack also includes the colourful American Flamingo, the new world White-Faced Saki and the North American Bighorn Sheep.

This pack features 7 brand new animals that will bring even more diversity to your zoos, alongside over 80 brand new scenery items and an incredible new scenario.

From the icy wilderness of North America to the vibrant rainforests of South America, this exclusive collection will bring you closer to a host of new species. Featuring the iconic Coyote from North America, these wiley canines can run up to 40 miles per hour. The agile Ocelot from Central and South America, who are equally at home in water, on land or in trees! Also included are the water loving Bush Dog, the flightless Greater Rhea, the mischievous White-faced Saki, the colourful American Flamingo and the hardy Bighorn Sheep! These animals are instantly recognisable and will add a familiar feel to your zoos. These species showcase some of the diverse and rich wildlife that makes the Americas so unique.

The Americas Animal Pack also contains over 80 varied scenery pieces inspired by the American continent that will allow you to create an exhilarating zoo that is bursting with life. Update 1.18.2 is now available for download. Simply update your game before you play! This release contains bug fixes and updates.

General

Resolved a compatibility issue with a Windows update that could cause the game to crash.

Staff

Fixed vendors occasionally getting stuck in a cycle of heading to modular gift shops without being able to enter them.
Fixed staff facilities displaying incorrect signs in the Frontier Zoo scenario.

Animals

Updated IUCN classification of African penguins to list them as 'Critically Endangered' species rather than 'Endangered'.
Fixed Formosan black bears being unable to use the frozen fish enrichment item.
Fixed range maps inconsistencies for various species.
Enabled use of burrows for arctic foxes.
Added hanging animation to the African leopard.
Reduced the minimum group requirement for the Red Crowned crane in keeping with real life zoos.

Plants

Fixed 'Plants' displaying incorrect foliage coverage in the Cuvier's Dwarf Caiman Environment tab.
Fixed incorrect fulfillment of otters' plant requirements when there is water in the habitat.
Added 'Taiga' biome tag to the White Birch tree.
Added 'Taiga' biome tag to the Polylepsis tree.

Franchise Mode & Frontend

Disabled the quick sell button for juveniles of domesticated species.
Excluded animals in the Trade Centre from the calculations for average animal welfare and the zoo reputation's animal rating.

Help, UI & Notifications

Updated the legal text for 2025.
Fixed naming issues for some animals in Japanese.

Planet Zoo has recently celebrated our 5th Anniversary and we have absolutely loved every second if it!

We've had 18 DLC packs alongside 18 Free content updates, bringing our total species count up to 195 animals (so far!!). We've added new blueprints and new scenery, a modular souvenir shop, viewing domes, new animal and guest behaviours plus SO much more!

We have loved to hear how passionately you feel about animals and have been amazed by your workshop creations
