combat is too easy in this game
is there any way to make combat harder in this game? i downloaded multiple mods like better combat and immersion mod and am playing in hard core mode with all negative perks + beefier runt mod and i still floored his ass pretty quickly, enemies in general when i level up just get felled left right and centre and i dont see any mods that really for instance decrease weapon damage or up enemy health to make fights last longer, granted early game combat is amazing and i loved it and every fight i survived wit hthe skin on my teeth but late game is a cake walk how fix

Find the mod that disables master strikes
on my first playthrough I completed the game without master strikes. Just trained once with Bernard and thought that he was a jerk and never went back. Was pain in the a**

this can be exploited too easy imo.
with "clinch" you give them knee to their face until they drop.
expecially combined with the headcracker perk this can get hilarious.
the first 4 lvl's can be the hardest, especially when you not have a horse and get into an ambush while on foot and carry a bit too much stuff on your way back to the miller.

I never got master strike too. I just go for stabs in the face. if you know what distance to keep to not get counter moved on it with the weapon you using, it become relative easy.
only the wayfaring knight and the battle with Runt were not easy.
somehow that knight didnt want to give up and I had to duel him for 3 in game hours. it was dark when he finally gave up.
Aso Runt have extra armor and a faceplate helmet on hardcore mode so he not go down so easy. I could have cheesed it with a mace or morgenstern, but I blunted that queen of sheba on him, so much I could not repair it myself and I had to haggle to fix it for 850 groschen xd

how do i just stay inside those first 4 levels, even with better combat and immersion mod essentially making master strikes impossible to do with how tight the timing is i feel like after you level up the game either makes your sword a lightsaber (i literally keep trusty companion as my main sword to nerf myself and it still slices through armour somehow) or the timings on everything minus master strikes so lenient
The combat is just very stat based and then later mastertsrikes have a very heavy impact.
The hardest you can make the game is not by removing masterstrike, but by not learning them yourself and play with restrictions.
But exactly because is it more character stat based than player skill based other than the way you manouvre and some timing choices there is not much you can do besides turning to alternative ways to beat enemies if your character skills are outmatched.
Like archery, your horse, kiting techniques etc.
if you would want the most challenge, dont use the horse for combat, dont use bows, dont learn masterstrikes, never train with bernard.
Could even restrict yourself from plate armor and longswords and maces.
And of course hardcore with at least all negative perks that impact your fightng and leveling.
I've tried it all at one time, even including not being able to take loot with me that wouldnt logically fit in my purse to make the economy harder, but it turned out the more I stripped away everything surrounding the heavliy stat based system the more it became obvious how much the stats determined the way battles went and it just made me think worse of the combat and enjoy the game less. In time I still became powerful tho but was just very aware that it wasnt becaue i played better.
its just designed to make you strong by "earning" it through playing long enough, but the game has way more content than the time it takes to become strong so you if you do enough of it its just postponing the inevitable

do you know any console commands that can sort of remove levels or set levels to a certain lower amount? i know you can do that weird #playersoul_add somethign something to add xp but i dont know how to remove it, after like 5 training sessions with bernard i got my sword, warfare, strength, agility and warfare skills to too high a level and i just wanna go back :(

I'm not too far into the game and it's my first playthrough but I feel like combat is incredibly hard compared to other games. Enemies can block 100% of attacks while not losing any stamina. At the moment I mostly cheese camps with bow on horseback.

I just did the brawls in uzhitz and the last fight with the fisherman, he tried to frontal kick me and I dodge and jab with right mousebutton on the side of his head and he went knock out instant!
I laughed so hard my neighbours probably hear it xd

i literally installed every mod that would make combat HARDER, no slow motion, less overpowered perks, weapons do less damage and you take more damage, i wish i could just reset my skill levels back to like level 4 but idk how
