I think it's a good style to deliberately avoid a clear conclusion and give players some room for thought.
Thank you for sharing your question about how the sequel connects to the first game. We understand why this is important, especially if you formed a happy ending with a specific character in Season 1 and want to know whether those choices are respected. Your curiosity about how the story continues shows how much you care about the world and its characters, and we truly appreciate that.
Season 2 is designed so that users can enjoy the story even without having a confirmed partner from the first game, but we hear your feedback about wanting the original endings to feel meaningful. We will proceed your thoughts to the related team so they can review this perspective as we continue to refine the experience.
We hope your time with the sequel will feel rewarding and immersive in its own way (•ᵕᴗᵕ•)
Although my pet theory is the second season takes place after the Seung Yi master thief ending from the first game.
Anyways, thanks for commenting, devs. I bought the first game on GOG and greatly enjoyed it.
Yeah, this is what I figured. The events of the first game, or something like it, happened but with an ending where the MC didn't end up with anyone.
