I believe you got your facts wrong here, therefore drawing incorrect conclusions.
1. The Tizen Steam app was not made by Samsung or Valve, it was made by a 3rd party company (I don't remember their name atm).
2. The Tizen Steam app was last updated in 2017. There could have been a million compatibilities issues since, since 5 years in OS development time is a lifetime. Imagine an android app written for Android 8. What are the chances it would work on a 2022 device running the latest Android 13 OS?
What probably happened is that the app could no longer work on the latest (2022) Tizen OS, that's why it's not available for 2022 Samsung TVs.
3. The fact that it's still advertised in Malasysia, has probably nothing to do with licensing or even being available in Malasysia. 99% chance it doesn't work in Malasysia, same as anywhere else. And probably issue with the Malasysia Samsung advertisers not being aware of the change.
4. If it's any consolation - The app did not work well for a while now. The "supported controllers" list was from 2016. So it was very very hard to find a controller that would even work with the app (there is a whole thread about controller compatibility here - https://eo.steamhost.cc/steamcommunity_com/app/353380/discussions/2/1735468693694185342/).
The app itself did not run smoothly either.
Maybe it's just my setup (I have a 2018 Samsung TV), but in last couple of years, there was a huge lag in streaming to the samsung TV app. My guess is the Steam app for PC does not work well with the TV app as it used to (back in 2017-2018).
5. The one good thing in all of this, is that Valve now allows to run a Steam client on any Windows, Mac, Linux or even Android/iOS device.
So you can buy almost any streamer, and it will be able stream games to your TV.
You can even stream it to your phone/tablet.
Or even a raspberry pi device. (https://eo.steamhost.cc/help_steampowered_com/en/faqs/view/6424-467A-31D9-C6CB)
6. One of my favorite devices by Valve, was the Steam Link box. It used to cost $35-$50 (even $5 on sale eventually), and worked flawlessly.
Even allowed streaming your PC screen, not just games.
So you could watch movies, or even work on your PC remotely.
It's been a few years since they stopped manufacturing them. So it's obviously very much outdated.
And still they continue to be supported by Valve and working.
Working better than the Samsung TV app, I might add.
So this should let you see how much Valve cares about supporting their customers...
This is the Steam Link app for Samsung TVs:
https://www.samsung.com/us/appstore/app.do?appId=G17053009166&nrtv_cid=5fe0a46f7ffbebacf6aada3b02d5445853d5a49443fa6fc28da20dac9516921b&cid=opmc-ecomm-nrtiv-pc-042720-142005-androidauthority-15517764&utm_source=androidauthority&utm_medium=narrativ&utm_campaign=15517764&utm_content=pc&nrtv_as_src=1c
As you can see, it's made by Handstudio Co. LTD.
Googling Handstudio, you can see it's:
"Handstudio is a technology and service-based company offering high quality smart TV apps and convergence services in Korea."
Source: https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/handstudio
So it's basically a small Korean 3rd-party company, that has nothing to do with Samsung or Valve.
And probably got paid 5 years ago (by either Samsung or Valve) to create a SteamLink app for the Tizen OS. And never maintained it since.
(It currently says updated in October 2022. But before that it wasn't updated since 2017, so the current update probably was disabling access to it from newer TVs or something)
https://www.samsung.com/at/tvs/smart-tv/steam-link/
which makes Samsung somewhat responsible.
But they refer to Valve in their conditions.
Which makes Valve somewhat responsible
please do something valve.
update: politeness
Good day,
Since the December 1 Tizen update, the app actively promoted by Samsung no longer works:
https://www.samsung.com/my/tvs/smart-tv/steam-link/
Since a month you did nothing, although the problem has been pointed out to you several times and it is the same for all customers:
https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/tv/tv-hijacks-right-control-stick-to-change-volume-when-in-steam...
You reject the responsibility, although you advertise the function. Please open a case and escalate the problem. My product does not work as advertised.
---
I still opened a Ticket with Valve, it cannot be that hard...
This app Updated : 01/08/23
Where are you seeing that? I've just checked the App store on my 2021 Samsung TV and it still says 21st Nov 2021 / v 1.9.64
EDIT: Aaah, on the link to the US version of the TV store. Looks like it's not been updated on the GB version, hence why I didn't see it. Great that it's been updated.

"Compatible Devices with Steam Link
Sorry. No devices available for this app"
Urgh! So now not available for any TVs?
I tried firestick and chromecast. Both had noticeable lag. Especially with audio. Nvidia Shield is expensive but works fine
Yes, Nvidia Now and Xbox pass is expensive and it's a pity becausa I have too many game in Steam...
On the other hand, Chromecast or Google tv ( I have one of this last), it's not option because the wifi conection is too slow to run fluency Steam...
Have you tired running it on an Apple TV, or is it even available on Apple TV?
