Wuthering Waves

This game has worst story telling.
one of the worst story telling aspect that keep used in this game
I hate that [Walls of Text]

Why do games that have full control over 3D models always use full pages of text to convey something? Like, for NPC A, "Oooh I'm dying, just let me write this full fkng paragraph of a novel book" to get something across, like wt'f. That's one of the most boring and laziest storytelling methods copied from some games, and somehow Kuro sees that and thinks it's a good thing??.

Even other (gacha) games that only use Visual Novel format for their story can convey info way better instead slapping a WALL of TEXT.

I mean, even though it's just a minor piece of lore, can't they narrate it a bit better? like adding a CG, even if it's not detailed at all is no problem, or just anythiiing please a better thing than just a plain wall of text. so it's not just not boring, but actually engaging, adding more impact and depth to the storytelling too. (esp for main quest)

I have this feeling of disappointment got to me because i'm really disappointed with the storytelling for Sumika. She's a character who should be told in a much better way so that her role in the story gets a better portrayal and more fitting delivery.
And this may also apply to some previous stories that had excellent content, but unfortunately fell victim to the Walls of Text.

Writing a wall of text to complain about a wall of text, lol...
I agree with this, as do many others considering 1.0 went through a rewrite due to the backlash and was still hated, but it's not as bad about it following 2.0 (Imo).

I do hope going forward there aren't anymore small chunks of story told through "journals". At least, not any in the actual story. That should be reserved for exploration content and stuff you find randomly alongside environmental storytelling. And, regardless of any game/story, it's always silly when they're writing about how they're dying like "oh no! the monster is coming! AHHH! *scribbles the word DEAD*".

Ad hominem detected. I wrote it long to make my argument clear. Unlike yours, which has no substance.

I don't think you know what ad hominem means, that said if you don't like the storytelling maybe you will enjoy another game instead?

If anything this game's problem is losing gameplay in favor of storytelling. This is especially true towards the tail end of 2.x content.

Ad hominem again: you're saying I don't know what it means, when it was you who started by mocking my "wall of text complaint." Then you dismiss it with "play another game instead" = classic deflection. You're not addressing a single point from my post at all.

I was not attacking you, your character or your motive. Rather I pointed out the irony regarding your argument and now additionally your incorrect usage of the term "Ad hominem".

And if you don't enjoy a game then why do you want to continue playing it? That is not deflection...
Agree. Also they confuse lore with story telling so many times, that the main quest feels cluttered (less often after 2.0, but they intoduced other problems).
I'm still mad how Phrolova was handled. Her patch was the strong point of 2.X cycle for me at the time it came out. Someone who you do let down and there are consequences for it. Like actual stakes in my gacha game what is this, characters can actually be killed/written off? Only for it to be hand waved away at the end and she's back now with zero explanation or story focusing on it. Gotta keep the harem alive i guess

Ikr lmao. i do know i have to understand that this is their first experience working on a game in this genre. they also need to experiment, gather experience, and all. but damn,,:steamfacepalm:
best we can do is just give them structured and clear criticism and hope they can improve well..i guess.
All these flaws are part of the process toward perfection!! Rrraaaaaahhhhhh!!!

I said it back then and i will say it again, if she was still playable, there were no consequences, stop coping. The difference between backing out on killing a character by making them still playable and by having them reappear in the story is just semantics.

I suspect there will be future story reveals in the future which might help explain some of the plot holes, its hard to judge this as it is given the story hasn't been fully revealed yet.

There is no cope here, WuWa's writing has been disappointing for a while now. They didn't have to make her unplayable, it'd be stupid from a gameplay standpoint but we're talking about storytelling here. Hell half the cast this point just doesn't exist in the narrative and they sure as hell don't really interact with each other in any meaningful way; they just fawn over Rover for a patch and then ♥♥♥♥ off till the finale. I've made peace with that after Lupo was Thanos snapped out of existence right after her patch when she should have been in the hunt storyline with Augusta and Iuno. It's that they didn't have the balls to commit to Phrolova's narrative exit and did a lame ass fake out instead with zero time devoted to justifying her narrative resurrection.

I agree with you. I had to watch a video back in the days about 1.0 story to understand it.
