Wuthering Waves

How does this game's f2p compares to games like ZZZ or Limbus Company?
Hello. I tried getting into ZZZ a while ago but after a month I quit even though I enjoyed challenging combat system since it felt like repetitive second job with logging multiple times a day to do the same stuff just to scrape by.

Battle pass also felt not worth it, seemed like you either f2p or whale, so I wondered how monetization is in this game.

Limbus Company was the first and the only gacha I've enjoyed so far (even though ZZZ was the only other I tried) though I heard LC can barely be considered a gacha given how generous both f2p and battle pass are there, but I wanted to try something with more stimulating gameplay for a change.

Thanks in advance.

The in-game "income" (calling it that feels horrid) is better than Genshin's if you only pull for limited Characters, but the Weapon Banner has its own currency so that kind of "eats" into said "income" - though, Weapon Banner is always a scam.

Generally speaking, the Monthly Pass (Lunite, Welkin, Express Pass, etc) is the least horrid in-game item to spend on, and it's basically 60USD at the end of the year - not a bad expense considering the amount of content the title gets over its lifetime.

Be mindful of your spending habits. Never spend if you don't have the funds, etc.
this game in general is pretty generous for f2p and the battle pass the rewards are very good but the weapons in there are pretty lame IMO you have a summon selector right from the start to get the best permanent 5 star character (get verina) and then another banner where the 5 star is random and is cheaper than limited banners. In terms of content well... is a lot of exploration in a very VERY big map and you dont farm the pieces for you characters like those games here they are in the open world you have to go and get them.

... I'm fairly sure WuWa isn't going to be anywhere near as bloody, grungy, and casually-murder-y as Limbus Company.

Bit of a high bar in that respect. ;)

For new players, you’ll be kept busy with the story, just like in ZZZ and Genshin. until level 30+

However, if your stamina runs out, you can still hunt for "echoes" (the name for the gear system) by exploring, similar to how you play Pokémon Go.

Once you reach the endgame, you can test your skills by fighting hologram bosses, each with 6 different difficulty levels — and at each level, the boss’s movements and patterns will change.

It's basically the same as ZZZ.

50/50 on featured character, featured weapon has no 50/50, and both banners are 80 pity to get a 5*. I'd say it's more f2p compared to other hoyo titles but definitely not as generous as Limbus Company with its battle pass.

Nice

Next one in 5 months
Having never played Limbus company I can only compare it to ZZZ. The game is more generous than ZZZ. Generally WuWa gives out about 10 to 20 more pulls in a patch. ZZZ has a hard pity of 90 where as WuWa has a hard pity of 80. ZZZ has 75% chance on the 5 star to be limited weapon while WuWa is 100%. ZZZ has 0.6% base chance per pull while WuWa has 0.8% chance per pull.

Limbus Company: The rates are atrocious, worse than most gacha. It’s made up by the fact that if you buy the battle pass which last for 6 months you can quite literally get every single character in the game by simply playing the roguelike mode (Something you’ll be doing anyways as it’s one of the main forms of endgame content.)

Limbus Company's actual gacha is bad, but it has a system where each character (of which there is a set roster, you gacha for basically alternate universe versions of them called IDs) has their own tokens which you can exchange for any ID (other than the previous season) or EGO (kind of the equivalent of weapons but not really, and also not the previous season). The important thing here too is this exchange is a direct purchase with the tokens, no RNG.

Once you max out the Battle Pass you get boxes that give you these tokens (and bought Battle Passes give you triple the amount), which means if you play the game hard enough you can buy every single ID/EGO you want, no RNG. And there's a pack for ~25 USD that gives you enough currency to buy 3 Battle Passes so you can hardcore farm for almost 2 years.

It's genuinely really bad at being a gacha, you basically should never pull on the banner unless it's an ID for one of your team comps. And even then...eh....

This is further exacerbated by the game having no reason to acquire dupes of IDs or EGOs (you can't, if you get a dupe it turns into said tokens).

People who have been playing the game for a very long time effectively have thousands upon thousands of the pull currency and not much to spend it on.

3.0 is said to have ~137 pulls free to play. if you are willing to spend 15 bucks, you can make that 170 pulls, however, you asked for ftp numbers. Last patch, 2.8 was estimated at 72 pulls ftp, and that was a shorter patch. Hope this helps give you an idea.
