very addictive and rewarding, many victory types, though the lack of unit stacking makes late‑game management overwhelming, especially for militaristic civs. Not being able to rebind keys inside the game is also annoying... still, one of the best TBS games in 2026 despite the AI’s schizophrenia

Played every Civ since Civ II (Test of Time).

This is the best one so far. It achieved everything Civ ever wanted to be. Civ 6 is a good game. Civ 4 has the best music and narration (RIP Spock). Civ 3 was revolutionary. Civ 7 is too mobile and too weird.

Civ V is everything Civ should be. Sean Bean makes it even better. I keep coming back to this game all these years because the new ones just aren't quite hitting the mark. Graphics and UI Still hold up to the test of time all these years later. Seeing that it was 15 years ago is mind blowing, but it is also true that this is the quality of a Civ game that we've been trying to find all these years later.
