Pot challenge is geuninely horrific
Nobody enjoys rng, on top of rng, on top of absolute perfection in speed, bhopping, and platforming. Like this has to be the worst challenge ever.

It feels like this really good new item is just gated behind a huge time waster. Guess Im just not gonna play for the new stuff and do something else.

Edit: I did actually end up doing the challenge btw and I am still unhappy with the requirements. I do think there should be difficult challenges, HOWEVER, this challenge is mostly an effort in tedious rng grinding. I do understand rng is a major factor in the game, but there is a point where its just not fun. We need challenges that require skill but actually respect the player's time.

Just my opinion though. It didn't really feel good to complete it :/

Gave it a few dozen attempts just like the speed runners for the new skins and it's genuinely just not worth it. Literal antifun mechanics with mental institution RNG. I'm sure the dev is getting a laugh reading 99% of his base hates the new unlock requirements.

Beating Spooky Steve to unlock a character wasn't even satisfying either, just more annoyance than anything else. All I can say is bravo on that one.

I agree. I just want to play the game with the new items. i have spent the last 2 days not playing the game and trying to unlock the pot until i get so frustrated with rng or falling off ladders that are so touchy.

And maybe when we are only progamers here the dev will do a bit harder challenges lol

Imagine typing 'skill issue players should leave' like you’re personally guarding the gates of Megabonk with a Mountain Dew stained keyboard, hoping the dev notices you and whispers “yes king, go forth and make me proud.” But hey, keep telling yourself you’re elite while begging the playerbase to shrink. Nothing screams pro gamer like needing fewer people around to boost what little ego you have left in your dark lonely room.

The pots and chests positions are always the same depending on the layout you are being presented, learning where they are is important, specially chests since they can be hidden if you are not putting attention.

Activate the pot/chest counter and you will ace it. You can even have like 5-7 more seconds before Steve touches you.
If he doesn't nerf it, I want it to stay hard to unlock. Its a legendary item, its really good, and so you should have to make it difficult to unlock for the players who try to get it. If he nerfs it somehow, then yes, make the unlock requirements easier.

I like that a legendary item is a skill filter.

No, and the dev SHOULDN'T listen to people like you. The unlock isn't a challenge, it's tedium of a worse sort than the 'kill xbillion rats to get rat flail' type 'challenges', as it can't be completed organically.
Unlocks should not be entirely reliant on lucking into an 'optimal' scenario just to have a shot at it.
The way the crypts are at the moment, being an anti-fun design that belongs to an entirely different genre, the ONLY things that should be unlocked from it are character skins. No items, tomes, characters, or weapons. It straight up negates basically everything you learned about the game in the prior two levels and doubles down on RNG ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Pro-tip, the reason survivors games are fun is because while RNG is involved, it's not a REQUIREMENT to have good rng to unlock and progress things. The good ones don't lock items and such behind pure RNG ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that you can't get organically the way this game frequently does.

You should give us your opinion AFTER you unlock the achievement yourself. If you can.
I agree. While some challenges are fun this one is just torture. Challenges like this should give you a skin or something not items. The OG Vampire survivor did it much better.

As I said in my thread about it like a week ago, I spent about 7 and a half hours trying to get the pot and kept having to reset because of bad RNG. I only saw a timer above 1:10 like 20 times and the only reason I managed to do it was pulling a Mirror in my last chest to reflect Steve's first hit on me so I could grab the last pot and die immedietely after. Hard can be fun, but only if it's hard because of skill. RNG hard is just hot ass to try and do anything.
Man I wish I was skilled enough to make a game like this so I could make a requirement that would piss off people who hate grass.

Unfortunately those who think the pot/speed challenges for skins are acceptable smoke said grass and chugged the rest of the kool-aid
