Silent Hill f hits different, and that's a good thing. From the first hour, the vibe is creepy as hell - empty areas, weird audio, and constant pressure like the game is messing with your head on purpose. The Japanese setting is a strong move: it feels fresh and gives the horror a new flavor instead of recycling old Silent Hill ideas.

This is mostly slow-burn horror done right. There are jump scares, but they're rare and well placed, not cheap or spammed. The game leans more on tension, disturbing visuals, and that "something bad is coming" feeling. Combat is a bit clunky and clearly not the main focus, but it's serviceable and doesn't kill immersion. Exploration and atmosphere hard-carry the experience. The story doesn't hold your hand, which is great - you actually have to pay attention and connect the dots yourself.

Amazing game set in rural Japan in the 1960s. It not only reflects Japan's beautiful architecture and mythology, but also shows the harsh reality of its society. This game criticizes patriarchy and delves into the immense pressure of being a woman. I appreciate the developers for not hesitating to touch on this topic and deciding to point out a real struggle in even today's world. Highly recommend it if you like games with psychological themes in creepy environments.





The atmosphere is stunning. They did really well making you feel like you're walking around a small Japanese town filled with cultural resemblances. The graphics quality is the standard for 2025, very impressive. Soundtracks are suitable for the game's general mood. The characters are interesting, I enjoyed reading Hinako's notebook and the letters I found throughout the game.


But this game has a serious problem with combat. Although Hinako is not built for a souls-like type of combat, the combat sequences expect you to play this game as if it's a souls-like. Half of your weapon's durability is gone until you kill a single enemy, and they throw six of them at you, all at the same time too. I don't understand why they are so demanding when they put you in combat. It's not even only about the resources, it's about gameplay too. The character was not built to fight multiple enemies at once. Hinako's movements are very stiff, her stamina is so low that if you dodge twice it runs out. I played on Hard difficulty, but this is not hard, this is just killing the experience. Because they're not giving you enough resources to fight with. I even had times where I had to run all the way back to the start of the map just to find a usable weapon.


And the narrative. I liked it overall, I think they did an ok job. But the game focuses on Hinako's friends and the societal problems as she grows up so much that I never considered that there would be something hidden between the lines. The first ending confused me. And even though i liked it, I didn't leave satisfied or curious after seeing the ending. It felt more like ''you were playing this the whole time but it was actually something entirely different.'' rather than a cliff-hanger. There were some hints here and there when I look back, but they could've hinted at the actual ''problem'' rather than making us read Hinako's feelings towards the situation.

The music is amazing and the sound design immerses you. Even her close breathing into your ears from the start... feeling that you are so close to the character.

Weapons are breakable! Inventory is a tiny pocket of Leon Kennedy. Difficulty MUST be the hardest possible variant in each game you see the "Silent Hill" in the title and playing it for the first time. Hear me out, the first impressions do not come twice, you'd better decrease the difficulty later than ruin your first impression. I saw many streamers go with easy mode and then like "Oh, is that it? What easy enemies", lol, have you forgotten already what difficulty you chose?

The atmosphere of the town is unforgettable, and it would be at this level that you will think twice before entering a fight, and consider how to survive. SH games are designed in a way that you must be unpleased to face enemies and somewhat afraid of them. The same goes for James Sunderland, of course.
