Apparently there is ALOT of people as of a day ago crying out about this. Since it's on a pricier bundle, it's drawn alot of attention. Lets hope we can get a confirmation from DICE if it's accurate.
You had a strong running start battlefield 6, don't fumble now.
creating "tools" with the help of AI to develop a game is different .. imagine to develop a "map editor" with the help of AI .. it is different ..
what do you think how many CS2 weapon skins are completely made and done by AI and such people even earn money by selling them through CS2 or Steam marketplace .. this is ridiculous .. i would never touch CSGO/CS2 in first case
The problem is we paid $69.99 before tax on this VS a commercial that comes on for free. Streaming services use AI for recommendations on your next show or movie.
newspapers use AI for again personalization and recommendations, and to automate alot of the grunt backend work.
Paying $69.99 for a game just to have randomly generated things in it, that most people can do at home is a little slap in the face. People already fixed their sticker and re uploaded it online.
It brings into further question how much of the game was done with AI now, which can really hurt battlefield 6's player growth going forward. How much of the game development was AI? Is all the cosmetics AI? Getting charged full price for minimal auto generated work they didn't bother checking for errors stings.
$60 is two hours of work for most people lol you act like it's expensive
This, exactly. Expecting people to front up cash for AI-created tat is a special level of arrogant, and it's not like such profile stickers were particularly desirable even when they were human-made. Why is it that the only use marketers can think of for AI is the laziest, most annoying thing imaginable?
Good grief.
Yes, but there are a lot of games that are cheaper than that. Why should gamers pay more for less?
most people make $30 / hour now? Regardless of that. Telling someone to buy AI slop just because they can afford it, is.. a weird take.
I'm not sure if it is a community gamemode or one DICE or EA themselves had created but it's disappointing to see them resort to peddling this crap. I suppose BF6 is gonna go the way Black Ops 7 did in the end.
That's... not what people mean by "AI" in this context. It's about AI-generated cosmetics, not "rigged" matchmaking. I wouldn't be surprised if BF6 does use "EOMM", but that's a different issue from AI art.
it's the principle and if they are willing to use AI for the in store slop shop how much of the game had AI in put?
How many of the maps were in part, or fully created by AI?
Are the in game menus human made or AI made?
What about the core functions of the games hit reg? How much AI input was made into that?
How much AI in put was put into the match making?
Do you see how not disclosing the use of AI just fore the in store slop shop can have flow on aeffects?
EADICE Is now a privately owned company and these private companies are more likely to do cost cutting to make more money, and with the buy out costing 55 BILLION Dollars, the cost cutting probably goes very deep.
