Any way to make this game run on Linux?
Even with the latest build of GE (10-20) and some tinkering the furthest I get is a small box popping up and the loading bar making some progress before it closes.

Edit: As a test I just booted it on a machine still running Windows 10 that I was planning to switch over to Linux tomorrow but I noticed that it loaded something called NEAC Protect which is apparently NetEase's anti-cheat software and Steam does not mention this on the store page. Anti-cheat software is known to mess with Linux support.

Tried running this with and without "SteamDeck=1 %command%" with GE 10-20, GE 10-15 & Proton 9.0-4, no effect (Garuda Linux).

Running Proton 9.0-4 changes the icon of the pop-up that shows up to include a red exclamation point. Whether this is actually a good thing or not, I don't know. I would assume red=bad :")

Hope it gets fixed/figured out

Now that the beta is over and the game is in pre-launch I have tried again this time using GE-Proton10-25 and the results are the same as before. I was hoping that that NetEase would loosen up like they have with some games but apparently not. I read that apparently, for a game with NEAC Protect to work on Linux NetEase must allow it to like they have with a few games such as Marvel Rivals but I have not played that game so don't take my word for it.

Same here. Haven't found any way of getting it to run. Too bad. It looks nice.

No luck at all on Bazzite. It starts, little box pops up saying it's working on shaders then it closes and quits. Would be nice if it actually told you why, wouldn't it.

I also can't get past the window with the progress bar saying "something ...Unity...".


I tried Proton Experimental, Hotfix, without Proton.

Okay, here is how I got it running on Manjaro. You'll need to additionally use Protontricks and maybe GloriousEggroll (Not sure about the latter). In Protontricks: Select the default wineprefix > Install a Windows DLL or component > dotnet48 and vcrun2019. Give it time because there will be a few separate installations.

brother u are goated. thanks, im on cachy os and this worked, game instantly starts ,even though i got a bunch of errors during install. god bless

I can create the character, but as soon as I actually try to enter the world it crashes immediately. Anyone able to go pass character creation?

Same happened with a friend a couple hours ago. You'll need to create your character on a different computer, Windows if needed, Once your character has been created it should be fine.

Wait, you used Winetricks? Not Protontricks? That might be the problem.
