Sky Harvest

Sky Harvest

It's ok
Of all the game demos I've been playing, this one angered me the most because I wanted to like it the most. First thing is I got soft locked at the very first 'quest' I got trapped on my island because I thought I could plant crops to make money. Nope. You can't plant crops until after the jetpack... So I had to chop 120 wood, mine 120 rocks and get 50 fiber... plus more that I could sell to leave the island since it's 100g to go anywhere...one time.... one way. There is no where to forage to make money as far as I could see, no where to mine or anything. After I sold enough to leave the island and buy the jetpack, and return to the island that night with another 100g. Well they took all the rest of my stone and wood too! I mean I mined the whole lower field since I was stuck anyway. Cleared everything. I only sold enough to get off and on the island and buy the jetpack, yet it took everything. And you can't even clear the whole top field so I can't even replace what was lost. The quests don't activate until you open the journal either. So I was stuck with the stupid introduction over and over, with the stupid blacksmith until I figured it out. There is also no way to speed it up either, so it sloooooowly types the same exact words at the same exact speed.
So I played 8+ game days and barely got anything planted... nothing to explore, just clear the land and sleep with no one to talk to and nowhere to go. I finally got to fly around and met more people when I had enough money. I get they're a work in progress, but I don't like many of their 'personalities' and the fact you have one choice to reply to most things and the ones you do get to pick don't matter. It's weird how there's multiple art styles happening all at once when you talk to people.. I hope that changes. But what finished this game for me is having to pay for bait...35g. PER WORM. What. The. Heck. I went to sell my fishing pole but I couldn't...so I just quit the game. I don't care if one fish is 1000g, I ain't buying that bait.

Thank you so much for such a detailed and honest breakdown, I really appreciate the time you took to share your experience.

I completely understand your frustration and feedback like this helps me A LOT as I balance progression, pacing and accessibility for the final release.
The early game flow, resource loss, and economy are all being reworked to make progression smoother and more rewarding, all thanks to your feedbacks and I promise the world will feel much more alive with better pacing and meaningful interactions as development continues.

Thanks again, have a great day.
