August 2022, First day on scum I was like : " WTF?! " What am I doing. Scum is basically my first survival game, or this type of game I ever played. A multiplayer, server based game. I used to be so nervous going around, don't know what to do. But I did fell in love with the game. Since then a lot have changed. It got full released, new NPC's a lot of good stuff. There are still some stuff that needs working on, but the good stuff are much more then the bad stuff. You can always find something to do. If you like single player, or MP, you can find it. PVE, PVP, role-play, Hardcore.... high loot, low loot, whatever you want. Even when I do have a break from the game from time to time I always come back to it. Especially recently with the new loot system, new NPC's behaviour, new traders system.... and I'm sure this game will only gets better and better....
For a new player it will look complicated, especially with the metabolism system, Which is a unique feature of this game. But as long as you play it, you will learn the system. And there are always usefull videos you can find on the net.
So I hope you'll enjoy this game like I am
and I hope there are much more better thing to come for this game
The Devs are doing an amazing job

I've has the game since roughly 2018. I used to take long breaks from it in those early days. Around the .6 or .7 update I started to buy the game for people in my circle to play it with me. I have right at 1000 hours logged in the game with 11 of those hours being logged in the last two weeks. The game has a steady increase in QoL. I find that most people complaining had one bad experience and they haven't stopped ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about it. I can say positively in the hours that I have played, I have come across two bugs that were game breaking and I haven't run into them since, and they both involved vehicles. People complain that they don't like the modular vehicles because there are still bugs, but turn around and ♥♥♥♥♥ that it takes to long to get somewhere. People that ♥♥♥♥♥ about the platform still being on UE4 but don't realize everything that would have to be done to change it over to UE5. Every update more people complain about a "lack of bug fixing" and say that the community is dying. This is not the case and hasn't been the case. Upon release of EA in September of 2018 the game peaked at 18K players. The next month that number dropped to 4K and continued to drop until May of 2019 where it bottomed out at a little over 1K players. Since then it has increased with the first massive significant increase happening in April of '21 where it bounced to 13K. Since then it has only dipped below 10K players about 16 times. Sounds like a lot until you realize that the player count still stayed at 8K to 9K and that is 16 months out of 48. I cannot recommend the game enough. The devs listen to the community. It takes them time to get to suggestions and other requests however they do get to them. They are about as transparent as other game developers. The worst part of the game is the community. A lot of the private servers are toxic and have a tendency of ruining a game based around survival and looting by adding in a bot to spawn loot for coins or some other currency usually managed via discord. They have the survival aspect stripped out of the game and then ♥♥♥♥♥ about the gameplay loop being ruined. servers will have admins or mods that are selective on rule enforcement, and worst of all people will complain about their immersion being broke for the dumbest ♥♥♥♥, "the door opened inward when I wanted it to open outward." "The zombies don't do what I want them to do." etc. I cannot recommend the game enough. With the inclusion of enemy NPCs I may actually play solo and avoid the worst part of this game - the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ community.

Could be a great game with some polish. Lacks a lot of simple QOL like inventory management hotkeys or building in general is a nightmare without proper snapping, hotkeys, or moving buildables.
I'll leave a negative review until the devs finally fix 1 simple thing: Constitution.
One solution could be losing it by having no carbs in your system, or if you become a sloth for 5 minutes, or running your stamina into the red, just to name a couple ideas.

Every stat in the game has some condition to lose value:
Strength gained from carrying weight, and lost by having no protein.
Dexterity gained from losing fat, and lost by being fat.
Intelligence gained from upgrading memory modules, and lost temporarily with drugs and alcohol.

Constitution lost by existing, and gained by .
