Steam for Linux

Steam for Linux

Icons for shortcuts on desktop.
When I install a game and create a shortcut on my desktop, it pops up and has the appropriate icon.

When the game was previously installed on a secondary hard drive and verified and I do the same, the shortcut pops up, but with the Steam logo instead.

Obviously, I can now go and dig for the correct icon every time, but this is tedious.
Does anybody have a work-around for getting Steam to do this automatically?

First you have to verify, that you did not install Steam by snap or flatpack. These methods are known for using different paths.

If that is cleared, you have to check if the secondary drive is lined out in your /etc/fstab file and in a proper format (ext4 or btrfs), so Steam remembers it from start.
