Why isn't Christmas mentioned at all in the Half-Life games?
I just recently realized that none of the games even mentioned Christmas a single time. Which is very strange since it's such a famous holiday. We don't even see any Christmas decorations or anything throughout the game. And I know probably none of the games take place during Christmas. But you would think they would still be some Christmas decorations in storage right? Do you guys think the Combine may have had something to do with it? like during the 7-hour war they destroyed all the Christmas decorations and made it illegal to celebrate maybe? I feel like the game would be better if it was a little bit more Christmassy. I've always associated Half-Life with Christmas because I got the game for Christmas when I was a kid.

Lore wise, yeah maybe the combine don't let people celebrate anything related to religion so they don't celebrate christmas, but game-wise, you don't even see anyone go to the bathroom so why would they remember a holiday?

Just because the game was released in November and you got the game in December doesn't mean the game takes place in either of those months

If you're being serious, it was 2004. Most rooms are either empty or decorated with generic assets. Adding random Christmas assets to a completely unrelated game would just inflate the space the game takes up.

But like... what. I think *most* videogames don't mention Christmas

That's not really true, I know quite some games temporarily having special Christmas maps or decorations etc.

Ok? That doesn't mean *most* games do it. HL2 is also from 2004, they're not gonna bother having seasonal updates

okay, if you want Christmas theme of game, there have few collection mods in workshop, that will make the game more Christmasisting
