I feel miserable playing this game
I really enjoyed KCD1 fighting, but I can't win any fight in this one, that's clearly a skill issue, but man, I can't win ♥♥♥♥. I'm training with Tomcat and can't do ♥♥♥♥ to him, I couldn't even win with two bandits at the same time. I shouldn't have preordered this one
Edit. Thank you all for your tips, I really appreciate it

I'm with you. What a complete waste of money this piece of ♥♥♥♥ was
Just hard?

I'm thinking of playing this game so I'm curious.

The new mechanics can be a bit daunting for some, but if you practice, you can learn them. I kept getting destroyed by Tomcat in the beginning as well, but as soon as you get a feel of the rhythm, raise your stats a little, and get some decent gear, you will be unstoppable.

Try KCD1 first, its cheaper and if you won't like it there is no way you'll enjoy this one. It is hard, and it it supposed to be but I feel like it is too hard. I'm pretty sure there is no level scaling so you're thrown into the deep end immediately

Interesting. I'm falling asleep with the combat. I felt it was so easy, I completely dropped using swords because I felt like it doesn't need an I-win mechanic ontop of it all (Master Strike).

What exactly are you struggling with? Are you just not getting in hits?
Do you play with controller maybe?

You'll need entry level plate if you don't want to get 2 or even 1 shot, I too tried him super early to try get the master strike but you are still struggling to afford a bed at the inn that early lol.

Fighting multiple you want to sidestep until they are in a line and you are only fighting one at a time, only perfect block never riposte as it resets stamina regen and never ever hits anyway, always go for opposite direction enemy holds weapon, never combo they never hit and cost too much stamina, combat is all about brute forcing hits until out of stam and then regen it, repeat, add in master strike if you know it

I feel like I struggle with everything at this point. With struggle comes annoyance, with annoyance comes recklessness, anger and I get even more bad at fighting, the wheel comes round and round until I drop the game for half an hour and come back to try again

I want to learn master strike from Tomcat but to do that I need to defeat him in a duel, and I'm stuck at this one

For the Tomcat fight go to the vendor in the Nomad camp and buy the poison. Put it on your sword and then hit him once or twice then just defend yourself. The poison will weaken him enough to end the fight and then you'll get to learn the master strike, which makes combat 100x easier. Definitely agree there is a learning gap though. (Keep going game gets SO GOOD so fast)

Well, i on the other hand think game is too easy, with sword skill on 20, and decent weapon every oponent falls after 3-4 hits, i don't even mention master strikes which make 1v1 combat absolutely boring, like combat was designed for game journalists that cried that kcd 1 was too hard, can't wait for hardcore mode

Hm ok. Same here so that shouldn´t be the issue then. Try to get your hands on armor and just keep trying. Once it clicks it becomes a lot easier but it needs practice.

Thanks for the tip, I'll try it. Imma be honest, at some point I was thinking about cheating, glad I didn't go through with it because that would make playing this game pointless

Are you still using the hunting sword? Go make some coin and buy entry longsword from blacksmith and poop on him, longsword is massively stronger than shortsword as its 2H
