ok I give up, how do you get started with this game?
I loved the first one, and think the sense of progression Is just fantastic, however after reloading about 9 times I'm kind of tired of this game already.
So I have been trying to get to mutt, you cant walk, you get ambushed. you cant ride a horse , it get's spooked , I give up trying to start this game,
Is there some quest or something I'm missing before I go looking for mutt?

You could visit the blacksmith
Probably search for some proper shoes.
Avoid fast travel.

Going for Mutt first thing is a horrible idea.

While it's tempting to go after Mutt right away, that's among the harder things to do right at the start unless you've been lucky enough to come across some better gear/ know where to look.

That said, that quests' challenge is more in the latter part of it and In the playthrough I've just restarted on hardcore I haven't been ambushed at all even after going between these places several times. Only seen one mugging, so likely that's bad luck for you. Are you fast travelling? I think that has a higher chance of events happening, but even so it's unlucky to get ambushed every time.

There are a few other quests that present much less threat at the start & can get you some money. The blacksmith in Tachov who is one of the options for the main quest is a good start to learn blacksmithing & get some things to sell & a free bed. Cause he's close to Trsokowitz it's pretty safe.

There's other minor quests you can pick up. There's a choice of quest in either Tachov or Zhelejov. Going back to Bozhena (the lady who saved you) gives you a quest.

Or you could say ♥♥♥♥ it & go for crime to make money, although that's hard at first.

There's making & selling potions for alchemy, if that's not too boring.

Still, it's unusual to get ambushed this much and many of these easy quests require you to travel a bit. Normally the roads should be reasonably safe.
awesome thanks for the tips, I should make sure I'm clear by "Ambush" It's not even fast traveling that is the problem, It feels like there are Gear/skill check along every path, again that's fine I just got off to a wrong start I guess.

I might check that out, normally on these kind of massive open world games I don't watch any guides and just cry my way through it,
But this start is way rougher then KC1, unless It's just me?
Normally I don't ask for help, but this one is just not clicking, Kind of tiring/boring running town to town to talk to the same people, and avoid fights.
Just a slow start I guess
Yeah it's rougher than KCD1 where you can really hang around Rattay for a long time training & there's a few non-combat related quests about.

Here you have to travel out in the open a lot more & until you get just some armour covering all the main bits you're extremely vulnerable. Once you do though the difficulty drops off a lot.

The Blacksmith quest is good to get a horse and armor. Then I'd go get Mutt.. Alchemy is good for some initial money.. Just pick flowers, dry them and then look up recipes online. Also abuse Alchemy, it's makes you super strong.

The games difficulty is crazy. Some rando can almost kill you with a one shot combo, even after you have armor, if you aren't careful
Ehem, you need discipline to make it good. 10 hours, then you can start.

first 40-60 min to get to level 16 alchemy on first day to brew fox potion and learn from now on with a 50% plus experience bonus

then start hammering in the smithe. With that one perk, your energy rises, so you don't need sleep, as long as you do alchemy and hammering.

In the first night you crawl in the attic of Tachow's inn and just crouch there around back and forth until 4 o'clock. Then you have sneak skill to 28.

On the second day smithing to level 16, then forge your first usable short sword in Henry quality.

Then to the miller to learn lock picking. By walking there put on 100 gramm more then you can normally bear, you strengthen your strenght + vitality from 6 to 8,9,10 by walking.

Then you can train sword fighting with Cat. When you learn the second combo he teaches you, you later repeat to do this again. In the repetition of the second combo, you can willingly do not to the requested technique but instead the left-right-left as long as you want to level up.

3-4 day: reading all the books you bought from the scribe and found laying around.
And so on.

The last beginner thing for me is to get the first good sword, that is the swiss dagger in that mine in Appolonias. After crafting this, AquaVitalis and using bane and doll maker potion, one can start with Pebbles and the dog also at hand.

This all takes 10 hours, without crime, just craftmanship.

Easiest way to make money in the opening when not knowing jack about the game is brewing potions....and selling those. Opening town you have 3 instructions. You get two forced via the story, and you have one there for the taking that I don't think even has a steal flag attached to it.

They are, the Save potion from your default book., the Chamomile one from the old hag, and there is a free one in the potion making hut on a shelf...(along with a free potion, beside it) i forgotten what it is. Might be the one that increases strength for like 15 realtime minutes or something. Useful when you're overload with loot.

As for the actual ingredients you can easily find in that first town. Poppy, Sage, Chamomile, eyebright, nettle, Wormweed and marigold. Bellodonna and the herb can be bought from the merchant that's upstairs, which restocks daily by a factor of 10 (I think, maybe it's 5.)... and there is a drying rack in the potion hut, as well. That chamomile potion can be easily made and is one of the quickest one to brew and will level up you alchemy quite fast.

I do recommend buying the marigold potions instruction right away.... it's very useful potion the earlier you get it. NIghthawk potion instruction is also a must for nighttime stuff and well worth the price. And Dollmaker poison is great for arrows. Bane poison instructions is the hardest to find.

Ok, I love this game, but that would drive me insane. If power levelling is your thing, then fair enough, but there's easier ways of getting over the early hurdles of the game in much less than 10 hours.

there are you tube video galore on how to speed up your progression in the game.
you tube also provides quest walk thrus...............perhaps you could try them.
Search the woods..tons of equipment and expensive items between around even the first village...find beehives and get honey...I had like 50 at one point

If you see people on the road...go into the woods and around...train swords at trainers first

Alchemy is the first skill you should work on. It's tedious, but it pays for itself instantly, and the game is 'balanced' with the idea in mind that you have a belt full of magic potions as well as OP self-forged steel. The difference between vanilla Henry and Henry singing Purple Haze II with his own suped up brands of Buck's Blood, Aqua Powergamia and Regia Whathaveyou is pretty dumb.
