Mythos: Build & Survive

Mythos: Build & Survive

Demo/Alpha feedback
I liked the idea, the game is good and has potential. I'll give my opinion, the errors I found and things that would be interesting, in my opinion, to be implemented or changed.

Positive points:

Simplicity - The game has simple mechanics that are easy to learn, without even needing a tutorial or anything.

Good performance - I didn't encounter any problems with crashes or drops. And this, for an alpha version, is a positive thing, showing that the final result will be well polished.

Missions that are neither too fast nor too long - Balancing this aspect well can attract audiences from various strategy subgenres.

Freedom to build anywhere - This is something that, in addition to making the game more dynamic, removes the restriction of only being able to build near the main city hall building. Giving more possibilities for organization and obtaining resources.

Negative points:

NPCs that get stuck in buildings - And this inevitably forces you to destroy the building to get them out of there. Which is quite annoying.

Queues when placing and picking up resources - This, in addition to disrupting the flow, sometimes causes problems, because an NPC with a certain input in question ends up waiting in line for others to pick it up, even though they are actually looking for the resource in question, blocking the flow. The correct thing to do would be to leave them as soon as they get close.

Slow AI - NPCs take too long to leave, take, pick up and build. Instead of simply placing them and going straight to pick up or starting to build, there is a delay in these actions, which, in some cases, in addition to blocking their actions, also puts them at risk of getting stuck in the building, because if there is more than one NPC carrying resources and one starts building while the other is standing nearby, there is a risk of the building being built and the other NPC getting stuck.

Enemy NPCs that, even after the camp is destroyed, keep coming - Apparently this is a bug, since, even after the mission ended and I had destroyed the leaders and the tents, they kept respawning.

Few options for exploring the map - It would be nice to add some extra items, secondary missions and more places of interest on the maps, rewarding the players' curiosity to explore.

Animation/life of the environment and structures - It would be interesting and immersive to have animation on the map, such as birds, bees in hives and fish, as well as animation in some buildings. This makes a huge difference in immersion, and believe me, the strategy game audience notices these things.

Few units - It would be positive to implement more soldiers, but with a focus on Vikings, such as archers, berserkers, mythical units based on the God in question that we will be worshiping and even healers.

Furthermore, the game has potential and I am really interested, I hope that in the future I can play it again when it is finished. Thanks for the demo and great work.
