After finally getting all achievements in this game, I finally feel qualified to give it a full review.







It's pretty good.

I wish that I could give this game a "meh" rating. The game isn't bad by any means. It's a fairly standard farming simulator with unoffensive music, pleasant visuals, and a unique gimmick which makes it stand out. It's enjoyable at times but dear god is it grindy. Most quests are of the "kill 10 bats" or "make 10 burgers" variety. Certain characters are only available on certain days of the seven-day cycle, so when you finally gather all of the resources needed to complete a quest you're often stuck waiting around for several in-game days until you can progress.

The game has a story, but it's pretty bare bones. When you finally complete a quest you're rewarded with a few lines of plot-relevant dialogue and...another quest to gather more complex resources. The characters have back stories which are revealed as the game progresses but they're not all that interesting and certainly not worth the slog. There's a particularly egregious example at the end of the game; when you finally reach the end of his quest series, one of the characters announces that he is in danger and plans to flee the town...only to show up in the same spot at the same time next week spouting the same "default' dialogue.

I only played the base game but the game does have several DLCs which I imagine pad out the experience and give you something to do while you're killing time waiting for characters to show up. All in all, not a bad game but not one I'd buy again.
